THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

enabling, the Tamaki West Road Board doth hereby make and enact the following by-laws, namely:—
- These by-laws shall be read with and as extending and amending By-law No. 65 of the by-laws of the Tamaki West Road Board, and words used herein shall have the same meaning and be interpreted in the same way as when used in the said by-laws.
- These by-laws shall come into force on the gazetting thereof.
- Subclause (j) of the said by-laws is hereby repealed, and the following by-laws substituted:—
(j.) Preventing Reduction of Space.—No person shall make any alteration or addition to any dwellinghouse or other building (whether erected before or after the coming into operation of these by-laws), or erect any new or other building, whereby the open space attached to such dwellinghouse shall be diminished by such alteration, addition, or erection so as to leave a less open space than is required by these by-laws to be provided.
(j1.) Where a dwellinghouse is erected upon any site of insufficient area, road-frontage, or air-space for more than one dwellinghouse as provided by these by-laws, no person shall occupy or permit or suffer to be occupied as a separate dwellinghouse any building other than the dwellinghouse erected on such site, and no person shall let or lease for human habitation any building on such site other than the dwellinghouse thereon.
(j2.) (a.) The term “building” where used in the two preceding clauses (j) and (j1) shall be deemed to include a tent, and where no dwellinghouse has been erected on any site the term “dwellinghouse” where used in the said preceding clauses (j) and (j1) shall also be deemed to include a tent; provided, however, that nothing herein shall be deemed to prevent the use and occupation on private property of tents as temporary dwellingplaces under the following conditions, that is to say:—
(i.) Application shall first be made in writing to the Board for its permission to so use and occupy the tent, and stating the size, description, and locality of the proposed site, the number of buildings thereon, and the number of tents proposed to be erected thereon, and the respective dimensions of such tents, also the number of people intended to dwell therein.
(ii.) The Board may consider each such application in relation to the particular circumstances in each case, and shall grant its permission for such use and occupation in respect of every tent the use and occupation of which in the opinion of the Board will not endanger the public health, safety, or convenience.
(iii.) If, after such permission has been granted as aforesaid the Board is of opinion that the continued use and occupation of any tent as aforesaid is endangering the public health, safety, or convenience, it may withdraw and cancel such permission.
(iv.) A fee of two shillings and sixpence for each tent shall be paid and payable to the Board before such permit is granted.
(b.) The provisions of subclause (i) of said By-law No. 65 shall apply to all tents, and the words “dwellinghouse” and “house” where used therein shall be deemed to include a “tent.”
(c.) The term “tent” where used herein shall be deemed to mean and include any tent, marquee, pavilion, or other temporary structure or erection.
(d.) Nothing herein shall be deemed to restrict or modify the provisions of section 70 of these by-laws.
The above by-laws were made by special order of the Tamaki West Road Board, the resolution to make the same having been passed at a special meeting of the said Board held on the 21st day of May, 1917, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting thereof on the 28th day of June, 1917.
The common seal of the Inhabitants of the Tamaki West Road District was hereto set and affixed at a meeting and by order of the Tamaki West Road Board on the 28th day of June, 1917, in the presence of—

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Onehunga, the One Tree Hill Road District, and the County of Eden.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Onehunga are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 28th day of May, 1917, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 91, of the 31st day of May, 1917.
And also, in pursuance of the said section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the One Tree Hill Road District and the County of Eden affected by the said Order in Council dated the 28th day of May, 1917, are hereby defined as set out respectively in the Second and Third Schedules hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF ONEHUNGA.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east by the south-western side of Mount Smart Road from the north-eastern corner of Allotment No. 3, Section No. 13, Suburbs of Auckland, to a point in line with the south-eastern side of Campbell Road; thence across the road to the southernmost corner of Lot 9, Hospital Reserve, part of Allotment 13, Section 12, Suburbs of Auckland, and along the eastern side of Manukau Road to the north-western corner of Lot 1 of the said Hospital Reserve; thence towards the north-west by part of Allotment No. 13 of Section No. 12, Suburbs of Auckland (educational reserve), to Cornwall Park; thence again towards the north-east by Cornwall Park to and across Campbell Road; thence again towards the north-west by the south-eastern side of Campbell Road to the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 14 on plan No. 7941, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence again towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 14, 15, 16, 43, 44, 49, 52, 88, 91, 92, and 97 on plan No. 7941 aforesaid, the abutment of Tawa Road, and the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 98, 103, 104, 109, 110, 115, and 116 on plan No. 7941 aforesaid; towards the south-east generally by the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned allotment, the abutment of Tawhiri Road, by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 117 and 118 on the said plan No. 7941, by the crossing of Rawhiti Road, by the south-western side of that road to the eastern corner of Allotment No. 85 on plan No. 4393 deposited as aforesaid, by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotment No. 85 aforesaid and Allotment No. 81 on the last-mentioned plan, the abutment of Moata Road, by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 77 and 73 on the aforesaid plan No. 4393, by the abutment of Ngamata Road, by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 69 and 67 on plan No. 4393 aforesaid, by the crossing of Moana Road, and by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 89, 87, 86, and 85 on plan No. 3646 deposited as aforesaid; towards the south by the crossing of Marire Road, by the southern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 83, 81, 80, 79, and 78 on the said plan No. 3646, and the crossing of Cameron Street to its western side; thence towards the east by the western side of that street and its production to the south-western side of Mount Smart Road; thence again towards the north-east and north by the south-western and southern sides of Mount Smart Road to the north-western corner of Allotment No. 15 in Section No. 17, Suburbs of Auckland; thence towards the east generally by the said Allotment No. 15, across the railway reserve, and by Allotments Nos. 14, 13, 12, and 8 to Church Street, across Church Street, by Allotment No. 4, across a road, and by Allotment No. 5, Section No. 17 aforesaid, to Manukau Harbour; thence towards the south generally by Manukau Harbour and Puhea Creek to a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Allotment No. 2, Section No. 13, Suburbs of Auckland; and thence towards the west by a right line across Summer Street, and by Allotments Nos. 2 and 3, Section No. 13, Suburbs of Auckland, to Mount Smart Road, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE ONE TREE HILL ROAD DISTRICT.
ALL that area in Eden County bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern side of the Great South Road from its junction with the Auckland-Onehunga Road to Hamlin’s Creek at St. Ann’s Bridge; thence towards the south generally by Hamlin’s Creek and Manukau Harbour to the south-eastern corner of the Borough of Onehunga; thence towards the south-west generally by the Borough of Onehunga to the
