dents of the borough with electricity, the said Picton Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three far-
things (¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable property of the
whole of the said Borough of Picton, upon the basis of the
unimproved value; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable half-yearly on the first day of October and the
first day of April in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy
of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the
Picton Borough Council as passed at a meeting of the said
Council at Picton on the 14th day of June, 1917.

IN LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the
matter of the RAGLAN PRINTING AND PUBLISHING COM-
PANY (LIMITED), in Liquidation.
NOTICE is hereby given that an extraordinary general
meeting of the members of the above company will
be held at the registered office of the company, Bow Street,
Raglan, at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday, the eleventh day of
August, 1917, to receive statement of accounts and report
of the liquidation, and to determine the manner in which
the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of
the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Avondale Jockey Club at a meeting held on the
26th day of June, 1917, at Auckland, with a recommenda-
tion by the Chairman of the Club (M. Foley, Esq.) that the
same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the
Governor, in pursuance of section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908.
Mr. M. Foley, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting,
moved, and Mr. J. Raynes seconded, and it was resolved,
that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chair-
man and Secretary of the Club be authorized to sign the
same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Avon-
dale Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the
said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth
hereby make the following regulations controlling the admis-
sion of persons to that part of the club’s property situated
in the City of Auckland and the Town District of Avondale,
and known as the Avondale Racecourse, while the said race-
course is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meaning ascribed
to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. -
The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the racecourse above described while the same is used
or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
to the Racing Conference of New Zealand.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no law-
ful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the club were made and passed
by the club on the 26th day of June, 1917, and signed by the
Chairman and Secretary.

hereby approved this 12th day of July, 1917.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club at a meeting held
on the 14th day of June, 1917, at Hastings, with a recom-
mendation by Mr. George Ebbett, one of the Committee of
the Club, that the same be passed at once with a view to
their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the
Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. G. Ebbett, one of the Committee, moved at the meet-
ing, and Mr. W. P. Archibald, a member of the Club, seconded,
and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted,
and that the Chairman, Mr. J. S. McLeod, be authorized to
sign the same in authentication thereon.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB.
REGULATIONS.

IN these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. -
The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s Racecourse while the
same is being used or occupied by the said club for a race
meeting, namely:—
(a.) Bookmakers, bookmakers’ clerks, betting agents, and
layers of starting-prices, and all persons who have
been guilty of any malpractice or dishonourable
conduct in connection with racing or betting, or
have been warned off any racecourse by any racing
club.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no law-
ful visible means of support.
- No person as in the preceding sections is mentioned
shall obtain the right to come and go upon the racecourse
or to remain thereon by reason of his being a member of any
racing or jockey club, or of his having paid any fee or obtained
any ticket of admission, and his ejection from the course
shall give him no right to a return of his fee or ticket.
The foregoing regulations of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club
were made and passed by the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club on
the fourteenth day of June, 1917, and signed by the Chair-
man and Secretary.

HOKIANGA COUNTY LOAN OF £4,000.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Hokianga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000), autho-
rized to be raised by the Hokianga County Council, under
the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repairing damage
caused to roads and bridges within the County of Hokianga
by the recent floods, the said Hokianga County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a
penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable (unimproved) value
of all rateable property within the County of Hokianga; and
that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the fourth day of July in each and every year during the
