boundary produced to the middle of the Waitawheta Stream; thence by a line along the middle of last said stream to the
southern boundary-line of the Ohinemuri County; towards
the south by the Tauranga County boundary-line; and
towards the west generally by the Mangaiti and Paeroa
Ridings aforedescribed to the place of commencement.

Waitekauri Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri
County, commencing at the north-east corner of the
Kaimanawa Riding aforedescribed near Trig. 89 (Ngapuke-
turua), bounded towards the north generally by the northern
boundary of the Ohinemuri County; towards the east
generally by the Tasman Sea; towards the south-east by
the Tauranga County boundary-line, to its intersection
with the centre-line of the old Tauranga Road; towards
the south-west generally by the centre-line of the old Tauranga
Road foresaid and the road along the north-east boundary
of Section 27 intersecting Section 24, and along the north-
east boundaries of Sections 5, 25, and 2 of Block IV, Aroha
Survey District, and the road along the north-east of Sections
15, 14, 12, 9, 7, Block III, Aroha Survey District, and the
road along the north-east of Sections 55, 68, Block XV,
Ohinemuri Survey District, and the road intersecting Section
61, and the road along the north-east of Sections 49, 62, and
27, Block XV afore-said, and that line produced to the middle
of the Waitekauri Stream; thence by a line along the middle
of the Waitekauri Stream foresaid to its confluence with
the Mangakara Stream; thence by a line along the middle
of the said Mangakara Stream to the eastern boundary of
the Waikino Water-supply Reserve; thence by the northern
boundary of the said Waikino Water-supply Reserve to the
Karangahake Riding foresaid; and towards the west
generally by the Karangahake, Paeroa, and Kaimanawa
Ridings foresaid to the place of commencement:
excepting the Waihi Borough as described in the New Zealand
Gazette of 20th February, 1902, page 413.

Waikino Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri
County, commencing at the junction of the Karangahake
and Waikino Water-supply Reserves, bounded towards the
north-east generally by the Waitekauri Riding foresaid,
towards the south-east by the Tauranga County boundary-
line, and towards the west generally by the Karangahake
Riding foresaid to the place of commencement.

I, Robert Walter Evans, Clerk of the Ohinemuri County
Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was
made at a special meeting of the said Council held for that
purpose on the 15th day of March, 1917, and was duly con-
firmed at the ordinary monthly meeting held at the Council
Chambers, Paeroa, on Thursday, the 3rd day of May, 1917;
and that the said special order was duly made in conformity
with the Counties Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof.

Boundaries of Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Buller County
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Counties Act, 1908.

BULLER COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order altering the Boundaries of the Ridings of Wai-
mangaroa, Ngakawau, Millerton, Mokihinui, and Lyell,
Buller County.

WHEREAS by section 25 of the Counties Act, 1908, and its
amendments, it is enacted that the county may alter the
boundaries of its ridings, a special meeting of the Council
was held on 20th March, 1917, when it was proposed by
Councillor Williams, and seconded by the Chairman, and
carried,--

That, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sec-
tions 25 and 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Buller County
Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows :--
That the boundaries of the Ridings of Waimangaroa, Nga-
kawau, Millerton, Mokihinui, and Lyell shall be altered so
as to bring them into conformity with section 25 of the
Counties Act, and the boundaries of the said ridings shall
be described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Waimangaroa Riding.

Bounded on the north-west by the ocean from Wareatea
River to the Waimangaroa River, and on the north-east by
the Waimangaroa River to its intersection of south boundary
of Block II, Kawatiri Survey District; thence by the south
boundaries of Block II, Kawatiri, and Block X, Ngakawau
Survey Districts; thence by a line running due east to its
intersection of the south-east boundary of the Buller Coal-
fields Reserve; thence on the south-east by the south-east
boundary of the said reserve to its intersection with the
Buller River, and on the south by the Buller River to its
intersection with the boundary between Blocks II and III,
Ohika Survey District, near Cascade Creek, and on the west
by Wareatea Riding.

Ngakawau Riding.

Bounded on the north-west by the ocean from Waima-
ngaroa River to Ngakawau River, on the north by the Nga-
kawau River from the ocean to the mouth of Mine Creek;
thence towards the south-east by a right line to the north-
east corner of Section 20 in Block I, Ngakawau Survey Dis-
trict; thence along the south-east and south-west boundaries
of that section to the north-west side of Hardy Street, of the
Town of Millerton; thence along the said north-west side to
its intersection with the south-west side of Seymour Street;
thence by a right line to the north-east corner of Section 12
in Block VI, Ngakawau Survey District; thence along the
south-east boundary of the said section, along the south-east
and south-west boundaries of Section 10 of the said block,
to the east boundary of Block II, Kawatiri Survey District;
thence due south along the district line between Kawatiri
and Ngakawau Survey Districts to south-east corner of
Block II, Kawatiri Survey District; and then on the south
by Waimangaroa Riding.

Millerton Riding.

Bounded towards the north-east by the Ngakawau River
from the junction of Mine Creek to its intersection with the
south-east boundary of the Buller Coalfields Reserve, on the
south-east by that boundary to its intersection with the
northern boundary of Waimangaroa Riding, on the south by
Waimangaroa Riding, and on the west and north-west by
the Ngakawau Riding.

Mokihinui Riding.

Bounded on the north-west by the ocean from the Nga-
kawau River to the Little Wanganui River, and on the
north by the Little Wanganui River to its source; thence
along a watershed over Trig. B to the summit of Mount
Owen Range at Trig. X; on the east and south-east by
Waimea and Murchison Counties, on the south by the district
boundary between Marina and Orikaka Survey Districts to
the source of the Ngakawau River at the summit of the
range, and thence by the Ngakawau River to the ocean.

Lyell Riding.

Bounded on the east by Murchison County, and on the
south generally by Inangahua County, on the west by the
Blackwater River from its source to its junction with the
Buller River; thence westerly by Buller River to its inter-
section with the south-east boundary of the Buller Coalfields
Reserve; on the north-west by the Waimangaroa and Miller-
ton Ridings, and on the north-east by the Mokihinui Riding.

At the ordinary meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the
17th April, 1917, it was proposed by Councillor Williams,
and seconded by Councillor Powell, and carried,--

That the special resolution passed at a special meeting of
the Council held on the 20th day of March, 1917, to alter
the boundaries of the Ridings of Waimangaroa, Ngakawau,
Millerton, Mokihinui, and Lyell, to bring them into conform-
ity with section 25 of the Counties Act, 1908, the said
resolution being duly made by way of special order, be now
confirmed.

The common seal of the body corporate called the Chair-
man, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Buller
was affixed hereto in the presence of--
