Bounded towards the north-west by a public road, 4222·8 links; and towards the south-east by the Tutaekuri River.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 2 roods 19 perches, more or less, being Meeanee Suburban Section 82, in Block VIII, Heretaunga Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a public road, 2950·6 links; towards the north-east by Great North Road, 180 links; and towards the south-east by Tutaekuri River.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 53438/73A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Meeanee Suburban Section 83, in Block VII, Heretaunga Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by public roads, 2325·5 links and 290 links respectively; towards the south-east by Tutaekuri River; and towards the south-west by Crown land, 72 links.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, being Meeanee Suburban Section 84, in Block VII, Heretaunga Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by a public road, 140 links; towards the north by the said road, 530 links; and towards the south-east by Tutaekuri River.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 59 acres, more or less, being Meeanee Suburban Section 85, in Blocks VII and VIII, Heretaunga Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by a public road, 6919 links; towards the south-east by the said road, 1549·5 links; and towards the south generally by Tutaekuri River bed.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Meeanee Suburban Section 86, in Block VIII, Heretaunga Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by public roads, 1282·8 links and 1692·6 links respectively; towards the south-east by Meeanee Suburban Section 76, 802·8 links; and towards the south by Tutaekuri River bed.

Bounded towards the south-east generally by a public road, 11848·5 links; towards the north-west by the Tukituki River and by right lines defining the limit of accretion, 8934·7 links.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Clive Suburban Section 308, in Block III, Clive Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 5496·4 links; and towards the south-west by Tukituki River bed.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 53438/73C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Rangitikei County Council.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Rangitikei County Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

SILVERHOPE SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 18 acres 1 rood 27 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block VI, Onga Survey District. As the same is described in a Proclamation dated the 30th October, 1905, published on page 2531 of Gazette No. 95, of the 2nd November, 1905.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Warrant authorizing the Heathcote County Council to construct a Bridge over the Avon River at Burwood, and apportioning the Cost.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that in any case where the local authority of any district desires to construct a bridge, or to establish a ferry or ford, in any position that will, in its opinion, be of advantage or benefit to the whole or any considerable portion of the inhabitants of an adjacent district as well as to the inhabitants of its own district, and where it is in the opinion of such local authority reasonable that the local authority of such adjacent district should contribute to the cost of constructing or establishing the said bridge, ferry, or ford, the provisions of the said section shall have effect:

And whereas the Heathcote County Council has given notice and taken the steps required by the said Act, and has made application to the Governor to authorize the construction of the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter referred to as “the said bridge,” and to apportion the cost of constructing and establishing the said bridge between the said Council and the Waimairi County Council:

And whereas it is also provided in the said Act that the Governor (with the view of determining whether or not the work should be done, or what proportion, if any, of the cost of the same should fairly be borne by any local authority, or what local authority should do the work) may direct any Magistrate or other person to be a Commissioner to inquire into and report to him on the matter:

And whereas a Commissioner was appointed, and an inquiry was duly held, in the manner provided by the said Act, in respect to the said bridge, and in respect also to the apportionment of the cost of constructing the said bridge:

And whereas such Commissioner did report to the Governor, after due inquiry, his opinion as to the matters respecting which he was appointed to report:

And whereas I am of opinion that the work should be done, and it is expedient to make provision under the said Act for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
