CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Lands in Wellington Land District forfeited.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 6th June, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses
of the undermentioned lands having been declared
forfeited by resolution of the Wellington Land Board, the
said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown, under the
provisions of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
Section 56, Block X, Hunua Survey District.
Tenure: R.L. Lease No. 106. Formerly held by P. C.
Coldstream. Reason for forfeiture: Failure to effect im-
provements.

Section 9, Block XIII, Hautapu Survey District.
Tenure: R.L. Lease No. 90. Formerly held by E.
Greenwald. Reason for forfeiture: Abandoning section.

Section 6, Makowai Settlement.
Tenure: R.L. Lease No. 22/352. Formerly held by E.
H. Shore. Reason for forfeiture: Breach of conditions.

Education Reserves in Otago Land District for Lease by
Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 15th June, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned edu-
cation reserves will be offered for lease by public
auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin,
at 11 o'clock a.m. on Friday, 20th July, 1917, under the
provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amend-
ments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
City of Dunedin.
Section 17, Block XXXII: Area, 1 rood; upset annual
rent, £14.
Weighted with £825, valuation for dwellinghouse, concrete
wall, drainage, and garden.
A very good residence-site, with a frontage to Queen Street
near Duke Street. Possession will be given on 23rd July,
1917.

Town of Oamaru.
Section 7, Block XXX: Area, 1 rood; upset annual
rent, £5.
Weighted with £160, valuation for building, plantation,
and concrete reservoir.
A good site, with a frontage to Test Street. Possession
will be given on 10th October, 1917.

Section 19, Block XXXIII: Area, 1 rood; upset annual
rent, £2.
Weighted with £320, valuation for house, garden, and
orchard.
A good site, with a frontage to Tamar Street. Possession
will be given on 10th October, 1917.

Section 3, Block LX: Area, 1 rood; upset annual rent, £3.
Weighted with £240, valuation for dwellinghouse, out-
buildings, fencing, and garden.
A good site, with a frontage to Eden Street. Possession
will be given on 10th October, 1917.

ABSTRACT OF CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. The term of each lease will be twenty years and six
    months from 1st January, 1918.
  2. A half-year’s rent at the rate offered, and rent for the
    broken period between date of possession and 31st December,
    1917, lease, registration, and stamp fees, and valuation for
    improvements, to be paid on the fall of the hammer.
  3. At the end of term lease to be offered by auction for
    further term of twenty-one years at rent to be fixed by
    arbitration, the incoming lessee to pay the value of the im-
    provements, which is to be handed over to the outgoing
    lessee.
  4. No assignment or sublease without consent.
  5. Interest at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be
    paid on rent in arrear.
  6. Consent of the Land Board to be obtained before sub-
    letting, erecting any buildings, or effecting other improve-
    ments.
  7. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.
    Plans and full particulars may be obtained at this office.

Education Reserves in Auckland Land District for Lease by
Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 19th June, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves
described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for
lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey
Office, Auckland, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, the 30th
August, 1917, under the provisions of the Education Reserves
Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases
Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVES.
Mangonui County.—Takahue Survey District.
Section 8, Block XI: Area, 49 acres 0 roods 30 perches;
minimum annual rental, £2.
Undulating to hilly land; about 5 acres heavy bush;
balance open fern and manuka land. Soil sandy clay, on
sandstone formation; indifferently watered by swampy
springs. Distant about a mile and a half from Takahue—
one mile formed cart-road, twenty chains formed bridle-
track, and twenty chains unformed road.

Hokianga County.—Whangape Survey District.
Section 69, Block II: Area, 57 acres 0 roods 13 perches;
minimum annual rental, £4 10s.
Undulating to hilly bush land, covered with rimu, kahikatea,
totara, rata, miro, taraire, rewarewa, &c., with a thick under-
growth of puka, rangiora, punga, nikau, kiekie, &c. Soil of
medium quality, resting on sandstone formation; fairly
watered by streams. Distant five miles from Broadwood—
four miles and a half formed track, balance unformed.

Whangarei County.—Mangapai Parish.
Section 32: Area, 29 acres 1 rood; minimum annual rental,
£2.
Level to undulating land containing fern, tea-tree scrub and
gorse. Soil heavy and semi-pipeclay, on sandstone forma-
tion; well watered by spring. Distant two miles from
Mangapai by cart-road.

Whangarei County.—Manaiā Parish.
Section 80A: Area, 73 acres; minimum annual rental, £2.
Undulating to broken land, half-acre level; covered with
tea-tree scrub, gorse, and rough danthonia. Soil is clay
gum-land, on clay formation; poorly watered. Distant two
miles and a half by cart-road from Urquhart’s wharf, which
is situated on the east coast in Tauri Kura Bay, near Whangarei
Heads.

Hobson County.—Okahu Parish.
Section 49: Area, 93 acres 0 roods 13 perches; minimum
annual rental, £7.
Weighted with £55 10s., valuation for improvements con-
sisting of 9 acres felled, 16 acres grassed, and 58 chains
fencing.
About 30 acres flat, 9 acres hilly to broken, balance undu-
lating. Poor pipeclay gum, fern, and scrub land, small
portion cleared; fairly watered by creek except in dry
summer. Nine miles from Mititai by cart-road partly
metalled.

Waitemata County.—Waitakerei Parish.
Section M 57: Area, 30 acres; minimum annual rental,
£1 2s.
Hilly to broken country, not ploughable; covered with
light mixed forest of no commercial value. Distant fourteen
miles from Waikumete by formed cart-road.

Waitemata County.—Waitakerei Parish.
Section 16: Area, 94 acres; minimum annual rental, £14.
Undulating to broken land covered with light bush com-
prising rata, rimu, matai, koekoe, and puriri, with a light
undergrowth of nikau, kiekie, supplejack, &c. Soil of fair
quality, with clay subsoil, on sandstone formation. Well
watered by small streams. Distant three miles and a half
from Waitakerei Railway-station by formed cart-road.
