land within the Western Taieri Land Drainage District, as follows, namely,—
On all lands in Class “ A ” : Sixpence per acre.
On all lands in Class “ B ” : Fivepence and three-fifths of a penny per acre.
On all lands in Class “ C ” : Fivepence and one-fifth of a penny per acre.
On all lands in Class “ D ” : Fourpence and four-fifths of a penny per acre.
On all lands in Class “ E ” : Threepence per acre.
On all lands in Class “ F ” : Twopence per acre.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the fifteenth day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of eighteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF ELTHAM.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Eltham Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and annual charges on a loan of £6,592, authorized to be raised by the Eltham Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying the loan of seven thousand five hundred pounds (£7,500), authorized to be raised by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 16th day of March, 1905, and known as “The Streets Improvements and other Purposes Loan,” under which there is now owing the principal sum of £6,592, or thereabouts, the said Eltham Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-sixteenths (5/16ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Eltham; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six (36) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly made and carried at a special meeting of the Eltham Borough Council held on 18th August, 1916.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at the Opera House, Palmerston North, on the 24th day of July, 1916, the following resolutions were duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said company also duly convened and held at the same place on Saturday, the 19th day of August instant, the same resolutions were duly confirmed as special resolutions, namely :—
(1.) That the company be wound up voluntarily.
(2.) That CHARLES EDWARD DEMPSEY, of Palmerston North, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.
(3.) That the arrangement proposed with the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association (Limited) and Mr. D. J. Nathan as set forth in the printed circular to the shareholders, which bears date the sixth day of June, 1916, be and it is hereby approved and confirmed.
(4.) That the Liquidator is hereby requested to take all necessary steps to give effect to the said arrangement according to the terms thereof.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, the acquisition of land, and the construction of a road through Kinohaku East Four H Section One, Kinohaku East Four G Section three, and Kinohaku East Four B Section Two; and for the purposes of such public works the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said parcels of land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, and is open for inspection (without any fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of the said parcels of land, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said parcels of land, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk of the said county at the County Offices, Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A ROAD THROUGH PART OF SECTION 90, PARISH OF WAIKOMITI, BLOCKS II AND III, TITIRANGI SURVEY DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, by the Waitemata County Council to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a public road through part of Section 90, Parish of Waikomiti, Blocks II and III, Titirangi Survey District; and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the said road and of the land as required to be taken is deposited for public inspection at the office of the Waitemata County Council, Empire Buildings, Swanson Street, Auckland. NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, ISAIAH SPEER, Wine and Spirit Merchant, CATHERINE VINCENT CROSBY, Widow, and JOHN JAMES MICHAEL CROSBY, Wine and Spirit Merchant, all of the City of Auckland, carrying on business as Wine and Spirit Merchants at Commerce Street, in the said City of Auckland, under the style or firm of “Geo. Crosby & Co.,” has been dissolved as from the twenty-eighth day of July, 1916, so far as concerns the said ISAIAH SPEER, who retires from the said firm. All debts owing to and owing by the said firm will be received and paid respectively by the said CATHERINE VINCENT CROSBY and JOHN JAMES MICHAEL CROSBY, who will continue to carry on the said business at the same address under the same style or firm of “Geo. Crosby & Co.”
