THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the
said borough having been altered by an Order in Council
dated the 16th day of May, 1916, made under the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Cor-
porations Amendment Act, 1915, published in the New Zea-
land Gazette No. 62, of the 25th day of May, 1916.
And also, in pursuance of the said section 20 of the Muni-
cipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries
of the County of Southland affected by the said Order in
Council dated the 16th day of May, 1916, are hereby defined
as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF GORE.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, bounded
towards the north by Sections 13B, 1 (P.R.), 13c, 9, and 17,
Block I, Waikaka Survey District, from the south-western
corner of the said Section 13B to a point due north of the
easternmost corner of Section 16, Block XXV, Town of East
Gore; thence towards the east by a line due south to the
Waikaka River; thence towards the south-east generally by
the right bank of that river to its confluence with the Ma-
taura River, across that river to a point on its right bank in
line with the southern side of Bury Street, in the Town of
Gore; thence by the right bank of the said Mataura River
to the southern side of Salford Street; thence towards the
south by the southern side of that street to and across the
Main Road, by the western side of that road and the western
side of Broughton Street to the north-eastern corner of Lot 31
on plan 87 deposited in the office of the District Land Regis-
trar at Invercargill; thence by that lot, 250 links; thence by
a line due north, 400 links; thence due west, 750·5 links;
thence again due north, 600 links, to the eastern side of
Vera Street; thence again due west to Lot 12B on plan 410
deposited as aforesaid; thence towards the west generally
by that lot, part of Lot 11 on plan 1502 deposited as afore-
said, part of Lots 11 and 10 and 6 on plan 408 deposited as
aforesaid, to and across Coutts Road, and by the northern
side of that road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 3 on
plan 408 aforesaid; thence by that lot, Lot 1 on plan 745
deposited as aforesaid, and Lot 7, Block II, on plan 70 de-
posited as aforesaid, to the south-western corner of Lot 13,
Block II aforesaid; thence by the said Lot 13 to Broughton
Street, by the western side of that street to Section 135,
Hokonui Survey District, by that section, across a road, and
by Section 306, Hokonui Survey District, and the production
of its southern boundary to the left bank of the Mataura
River, and by the left bank of that river to a point in line
with the southern boundary of Section 13B aforesaid; and
thence by a right line to the south-western corner of that
section, the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF SOUTHLAND.
BOUNDED towards the north generally by Lake County and
Vincent County respectively, as described in the First Schedule
to the Counties Act, 1876, from the eastern boundary of
Wallace County to the north-western corner of Tuapeka
County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 111, of
the 30th December, 1882; thence towards the east generally
by the said Tuapeka County and Clutha County, as described
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 8, of the 6th February, 1913,
to the ocean; thence towards the south generally by the
ocean to the mouth of the Waimatuku Stream; and thence
towards the west generally by Wallace County as described
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of the 4th February, 1897:
excepting the Boroughs of Invercargill, South Invercargill,
Winton, Gore, Mataura, Campbelltown, and the Town Dis-
trict of Wyndham.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the
City of Christchurch.

Wellington, 10th August, 1916.
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations
Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a
petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less
than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the
Schedule hereto, being the St. Martin’s Riding of the County
of Heathcote, has been presented to His Excellency the
Governor, praying that the said area may be excluded from
the said county and included in the City of Christchurch.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any
written objections to or petitions against proposed alteration
within one month from the first publication of this notice.
Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and for-
warded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF
CHRISTCHURCH.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded
towards the north-east generally by the left bank of the
River Heathcote from the eastern boundary of the City of
Christchurch to a point opposite the eastern side of White’s
Road which forms the western boundary of Rural Section 256;
thence to and by the eastern side of that road to the junction
of roads at the northernmost corner of Rural Section 23645;
thence by that section to White’s Road, and again by the
eastern side of that road to the summit of the Port Hills;
thence towards the south by a line along the summit of the
Port Hills to the road forming the eastern boundary of Rural
Section 11549; thence towards the west generally by the
eastern side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of
Rural Sections 11549, 34655, 2135, and across the road to
the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence
by that section and Rural Section 2115 and the north-eastern
boundary of the last-mentioned section produced to the
boundary of the City of Christchurch, and by the boundary
of that city to the place of commencement.

Onehunga Extension No. 8, of a Width of not less than
66 ft.

authorize the laying-off of Pah Avenue, in the Town of
Onehunga Extension No. 8, Auckland Land District, of a
width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block X, Kaitieke Survey
District, for the Purposes of a Post-office.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under
the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to
execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction
of a post-office in Block X, Kaitieke Survey District; and
for the purposes of such public work the land described in
Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaitieke, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to
the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and
send such writing, within forty days from the first publica-
tion of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
1 rood 29 perches.
Being Section 45, originally part of Section 2, Block X,
Kaitieke Survey District.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40602,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon edged red.
