WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Poll.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the result of the poll of ratepayers of the Mangaeturoa Special-rating Area, in the Parapara Riding of the County of Waimarino, taken on the 31st day of July, 1916, on the proposal to borrow £2,000 for the purpose of trimming, forming, and metalling the Mangaeturoa Road from its junction with the Pipiriki-Raetihi Road southwards to the Tupapanui Block, is as follows: For the proposal, 9; against the proposal, 7; informal, nil.

The total number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 9, being less than three-fifths of the total of valid votes recorded.

I therefore declare the proposal lost.

Dated at Raetihi this 31st day of July, 1916.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Pakarae Riding of the County of Cook taken on the 27th day of March, 1916, on the proposal of the Cook County Council to borrow the sum of £7,000 for the construction of a series of works on the line of the main East Coast Road, in the Pakarae Riding, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 47, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 13.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Castlepoint taken on the 27th day of July, 1916, on the proposal of the Castlepoint County Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of purchasing road machinery, including stone-crusher and road-roller, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 78; against the proposal, 22; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Patea taken on the 26th day of July, 1916, on the proposal of the Patea Borough Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of completing the water and drainage system, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 78, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1, and there were no informal votes.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists’ Shops in the Borough of Masterton, under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops within the Borough of Masterton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 9.30 p.m.; and that on Thursdays (the statutory closing-day) such shops
