TIMARU HARBOUR WORKS.—EXTENSION OF EASTERN MOLE BREAKWATER.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 10th July, 1916.

THE Timaru Harbour Board have notified that the 450 ft. extension of the Eastern Mole is now completed, and that two fixed green lights placed vertically 5 ft. apart, 30 ft. and 35 ft. above high water, are shown from the end of the extension.

These lights should be visible in clear weather for a distance of five miles, and show over an arc of 220° from 90½° (N. 73° E. magnetic) round by south to 310½° (N. 67° W. magnetic).

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—EXPLOSIVES ANCHORAGE FOR SMALL VESSELS.

Wellington, N.Z., 12th July 1916.

THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that the eastern portion of the old Explosives Anchorage off Hobson’s Bay has been reserved for the shipment of explosives not exceeding 5 tons.

The area is defined by a line drawn from Hobson’s Point to Cook Point, and a parallel line to this 1,500 ft. to westward; the northern boundary by a line at right angles to this, cutting Depot Point; and the southern boundary by a line parallel to the last-mentioned line, cutting the sewer-pipe line south of Ōkahu Point.
