Land proclaimed as a Street, and Street closed, in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District, City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owners of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Wellington City Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a street the land in Port Nicholson Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the street described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the street described in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND PROCLAIMED AS A STREET.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land proclaimed as a street: 0·38 perch, 8·43 perches, and 1 rood 2·96 perches. Portion of Lot 102, D.P. 1301, part Section 1 (Evans Bay R.D.).
Coloured on plan: Red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
STREET CLOSED.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of street closed: 9·08 perches and 3·21 perches.
Adjoining or passing through part Lot 102, D.P. 1301, part Section 1 (Evans Bay R.D.).
Coloured on plan: Green.
All situated in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District (City of Wellington).
All in the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40154, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this first day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Road and for the Purposes of paddocking Driven Cattle in Block XIII, East Cape Survey District, Waiapu County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for certain public works—to wit, for the purposes of a road and for the purposes of paddocking driven cattle in Block XIII, East Cape Survey District:
And whereas the Waiapu County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land firstly described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road, and shall vest in His Majesty the King, and that the land secondly described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of paddocking driven cattle, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waiapu; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of June, 1916.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor in Council to enable the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the loans set out in column B therein:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing of the loans herein-after mentioned by the local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto; provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case exceed five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
