Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Shops carrying on the
Combined Trade of selling Bread, Cakes, and Pastry in
the City of Auckland, under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the shops in which
is carried on the combined trade of selling bread, cakes, and
pastry in the City of Auckland, has been forwarded to me,
desiring that all such shops in the city shall be closed in
the evening of working-days as follows: 7 p.m. on Mondays,
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; 9.30 p.m. on Fri-
days; 10.30 p.m. on Saturdays; 11 p.m. on the evening
preceding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day; 9.30 p.m.
on the evening preceding any other public holiday:

And whereas the Auckland City Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of shops carrying on the combined trade
of selling bread, cakes, and pastry within the City of Auck-
land:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 22nd
day of May, 1916, all shops carrying on the combined trade
of selling bread, cakes, and pastry in the City of Auckland
shall be closed as follows: 7 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays; 9.30 p.m. on Fridays; 10.30 p.m.
on Saturdays; 11 p.m. on the evening preceding Christmas
Day and New Year’s Day; 9.30 p.m. on the evening preceding
any other day generally observed as a public holiday in the
City of Auckland.

And whereas the Devonport Borough Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of shops carrying on the combined trade
of selling bread, cakes, and pastry within the Borough of
Devonport:

Mercery, and Boot-dealers’ Shops in the Borough of Blenheim,
under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority
of the occupiers of all the drapery, clothing, mercery,
and boot-dealers’ shops within the Borough of Blenheim, has
been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the
borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as
follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6 p.m. ;
Wednesday at 1 p.m. ; Saturday at 9 p.m. :

And whereas the Blenheim Borough Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades men-
tioned within the Borough of Blenheim:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 22nd
day of May, 1916, all such shops in the Borough of Blenheim
shall be closed as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thurs-
days, and Fridays at 6 p.m. ; on Saturdays at 9 p.m. ; subject
to the closing at not later than 1 p.m. on the statutory half-
holiday.

The notice gazetted on the 6th July, 1905, is hereby varied
accordingly.

majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops
in the Borough of Blenheim, has been forwarded to me,
desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed
in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday and
Tuesday, 6 p.m. ; Wednesday, 1 p.m. ; Thursday and
Friday, 6 p.m. ; Saturday, 9 p.m. :

And whereas the Blenheim Borough Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops within the Borough
of Blenheim:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 22nd
day of May, 1916, all such shops in the Borough of Blenheim
shall be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and
Fridays at 6 p.m. ; on Saturdays at 9 p.m. ; subject to the
closing at not later than 1 p.m. on the statutory half-
holiday.

The notice gazetted on the 6th July, 1905, is hereby varied
accordingly.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Frater Terrace, in the Town of
Takapuna Extension No. 56, of a Width of not less than
66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby
authorize the laying-off of Frater Terrace, in the Town of
Takapuna Extension No. 56, Auckland Land District, of a
width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.
