The lots adjoin the Town of Kakahi, which is situated on the Main Trunk Railway about 183 miles from Auckland and about ten miles south of Taumarunui. Access to Kakahi is by the Main Trunk Railway, also by main road from Taumarunui and Raurimu. The rentals on occupation-with-right-of-purchase tenures range from 12s. to 13s. per acre per annum.
Soil is light and pumiceous, on pumice subsoil.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Inspectors of Factories and Inspectors of Fisheries throughout the Dominion as Census Sub-Enumerators under the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, for the purpose of assisting in the collection of statistics under section 20 of the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, in regard to the manufactories and works and fisheries in New Zealand.
