Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial Force:—
Staff.
Captain William Thomas Beck, D.S.O., Deputy Assistant Director of Ordnance Services, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, in accordance with section 11 (1), Expeditionary Force Act, 1915, and transferred to the Reserve of Officers (General List), with rank of Captain. Dated 19th February, 1916.
Captain William Thomas Beck, D.S.O., from the Reserve of Officers (General List), resumes his duties as District Storekeeper, with rank of Captain, and is attached to the New Zealand Staff Corps while so employed. Dated 19th February, 1916.
9th (Wellington East Coast) Mounted Rifles.
Lieutenant John Orlando Scott to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 24th March, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Edwin Arnold Nilsson to be Lieutenant, vice Beamish, promoted. Dated 21st December, 1915.
2nd Lieutenant Noel Gordon Grant to be Lieutenant, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 24th March, 1916.
Cyril Nelson Beetham Williams to be Lieutenant (temp.), vice Lieutenant Wilder. Dated 10th January, 1916.
New Zealand Field Artillery.
2nd Lieutenant Charles Newey Mitchell to be Lieutenant, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 18th March, 1916.
The notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of 2nd March, 1916, relative to the appointment of Corporal Cyril Vere Day to be 2nd Lieutenant, Wellington Brigade Ammunition Column, dated 20th December, 1915, is cancelled.
Corporal Cyril Vere Day to be 2nd Lieutenant, supernumerary to establishment (“J” Battery). Dated 20th December, 1915.
New Zealand Garrison Artillery.
Captain Charles Henry Matthews is transferred to the Unattached List (a). Dated 15th February, 1916.
Corps of New Zealand Engineers (Mounted Signal Troops).
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant* (on probation) Ralph Ranstead is confirmed.
3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
Captain John Morison Melville is transferred to the Unattached List (b). Dated 28th March, 1916.
4th (Otago) Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant Gordon Hope Allan to be Lieutenant, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 2nd February, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Hugh Mulholland to be Lieutenant. Dated 2nd February, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Thomas Gillman to be Lieutenant, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 2nd February, 1916.
5th (Wellington) Regiment.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Barton Albert Ginger is confirmed.
Corporal John Thomas Linehan to be 2nd Lieutenant, supernumerary to establishment. Dated 29th March, 1916.
13th (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment.
Cecil Herbert Hoskin to be Bandmaster and Honorary Lieutenant. Dated 23rd March, 1916.
14th (South Otago) Regiment.
William Fergie to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), vice 2nd Lieutenant Botting with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 8th March, 1916.
17th (Ruahine) Regiment.
The Honourable Sir Walter Clarke Buchanan, Kt., M.L.C., to be Honorary Colonel, under the provisions of paragraph 108, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 6th March, 1916.
New Zealand Army Service Corps.
Lieutenant Oliver Duff, from the Unattached List (b), to be Lieutenant. Dated 9th March, 1916.
New Zealand Forces Motor Service Corps.—Motor-car Section, Auckland.
Gideon Lawrence Taylor to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 14th March, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Gerald Gascoyne Beard resigns his appointment. Dated 22nd March, 1916.
New Zealand Medical Corps.
Charles Swanston to be temporary Captain while employed on duty at Rotorua. Dated 25th March, 1916.
Lieutenant George Harold Robertson, M.B. Ch.B. N.Z., to be temporary Captain while employed with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 28th March, 1916.
Doctor Elizabeth Gunn, M.B. Ch.B. Edin., is granted the temporary rank of Captain while employed on H.M.N.Z. Transport “Tahiti” as Permanent Medical Officer for voyage to Egypt and return. Dated 29th March, 1916.
Henry Arthur Bluett Davies to be temporary Captain while acting as Medical Officer in a military camp in New Zealand. Dated 3rd April, 1916.
The notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of 2nd March, 1916, relative to the appointment of Captain Francis Dewsbury Pinfold, M.B. Ch.B. N.Z., dated 11th January, 1916, is cancelled.
