  1. In addition to pay of rank, each officer of the Motor-car Section shall receive a running allowance according to the class of car used by him,——
    (a.) Class “A” car, 20 h.p. or upwards, seating four, including driver: 4d. per mile.
    (b.) Class “B” car, under 20 h.p., seating four, including driver: 3d. per mile.
    (c.) Class “C” car, not less than 10 h.p., seating one or two in addition to driver: 2d. per mile.
  2. An allowance of one pint of petrol per horse-power per hour shall be granted for each motor-boat when called out on duty. The allowance will be drawn only in respect of such motor-boats as are ordered by the Officer Commanding the District.

Amending the Description of a Reserve in the Marlborough Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-fifth section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that where there has been any error of description made in any notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve after the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may cancel any notification that may have been made in respect of such reserve, and issue fresh notification in respect thereof, with amended particulars and description: And whereas an error was made in the description of Section No. 1, Town of Wairau Valley, Marlborough Land District, in the Warrants of the twenty-fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and the sixteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 2, of the thirteenth day of January, and No. 20, of the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, respectively, reserving the land as a site for a post-office, the same having been described as Section No. 1, Block IV, Town of Wairau Valley, and it is expedient to cancel the said Warrants in so far as they relate to Section No. 1, Block IV, Town of Wairau Valley, Marlborough Land District, aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Warrants of the twenty-fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and the sixteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, in so far as they relate to the said Section No. 1, Block IV, Town of Wairau Valley; and do declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be the land set apart as a site for a post-office intended by the said Warrants.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 1, Town of Wairau Valley. Bounded towards the north-east by Morse Street, 120·4 links; towards the south-east by Section 33, Block IV, Mount Olympus Survey District, 415·3 links; towards the south-west by Section 10, Block IV, Mount Olympus Survey District, 120·4 links; and towards the north-west by Section 2, Town of Wairau Valley, 415·3 links, to point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/3/94, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Land in the Suburbs of Aria, Taranaki Land District, temporarily reserved as a Site for Buildings of the General Government.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as a site for buildings of the General Government.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 33 perches, more or less, being Section 10, Block X, of the Suburbs of Aria. Bounded towards the north by Section 8 of the above block, 281·9 links; towards the cast by Kumara Road, 440·6 links; towards the south by Konini Street, 171·7 links; and towards the west by Section 9 of the above block, 468·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5263c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Land in the Clive Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District, temporarily reserved as a Public Recreation-ground.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the right bank of the Tukituki River and the eastern side of Grange Road; thence easterly along said river-bank to road reserve on sea-front; thence south-easterly along said road reserve; thence south-westerly along road reserve to northernmost corner of Lot 12 on plan 2279, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence along north-western boundary of that lot to Grange Road; thence north-westerly along Grange Road to southernmost corner of Lot 17; thence along south-eastern boundary of said Lot 17 and Lot 18; along Springfield Road abuttal, and along east and north-eastern boundaries of Lots 19, 24, and 25, Deeds Plan 366, and along north-eastern boundary of Suburban Section 55 to its northernmost corner; thence along north-western boundary of said Section 55 to Grange Road; thence north-westerly along Grange Road to southernmost corner of Suburban Section 54; thence along eastern boundaries of Suburban Section 54, and Lots 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, and 61, along Camp Road abuttal, and along north-eastern boundaries of Lots 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, and 71, Deeds Plan 355; thence across tidal swamp and alongside of tidal basin to south-eastern corner of Lot 72; thence along north-eastern boundaries of said Lot 72 and Lot 73, Deeds Plan 355, to north-eastern corner of said Lot 73; thence along north-western boundary of said Lot 73 to Grange Road; thence north-westerly along Grange Road to point of commencement.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being Clive Suburban Section 304, Block III, Clive Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at northernmost corner of Lot 20; thence proceeding along north-western boundaries of said Lot 20 and Lots 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 on plan 2279, deposited as aforesaid, to Clifton Road; thence northerly along Clifton Road to southernmost corner of Suburban Section 101; thence along
