Opening Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—WAIRoa COUNTY.—WAIAU SURVEY DISTRICT.

Second-class Land.

SECTION 8, Block IV, and Section 5, Block X: Area, 354 acres 0 roods 20 perches. Approximate annual rental per acre, 2s. Capital value, £710. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £17 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £14 4s.

Situated on the Wairoa—Waikaremoana coach-road, about twenty-six miles from Wairoa. Mostly hilly land, with a few easy sloping terraces. Soil is light, covered with fern, manuka scrub, and native grasses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
