Inspector of Scenic Reserves appointed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

RICHARD CASEY

to be an Inspector under the said Act in respect to the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

CLAREMONT SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 44 acres 3 roods 10 perches, more or less, being Reserve 3891, situated in Block III, Otaio Survey District, Claremont Settlement.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Notice exempting Lands from the Provisions of the Mining Act.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Mining Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, as from the day of the date hereof, exempt that area of Crown lands situated in Hauraki Mining District, described in the Schedule hereto, from mining on the surface or within fifty feet from the surface thereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 555 acres 2 roods 12 perches, more or less, situate in Block VI, Coromandel Survey District, being portion of Karaka No. 1 Block and the watershed of the Karaka Creek. Bounded towards the north-west generally by Te Ranga Block, towards the south by the Pukemaukuku Block, towards the west by Crown land, and towards the north-west generally by Otumohokauri, Taumatawahine, and other portion of Karaka No. 1 Block respectively, as shown on plan No. 1901/1270, lodged in Warden’s Court, Coromandel.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Officers authorized to convene General or District Courts-martial.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Defence Amendment Act, 1912, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the undermentioned officers to convene General or District Courts-martial for the trial under that Act of such persons subject to military law as are for the time being under or within the territorial limits of their respective commands; and empower such officers to confirm the findings and sentences of General or District Courts-martial, whether passed before or after the issue of this Warrant :—

Brigadier-General Alfred William Robin, C.B., C.M.G., T.D., Commandant (temp.) of the New Zealand Defence Forces.

Colonel Joseph Cowie Nichols, V.D., A.D.C., Officer Commanding the Otago Military District (temp.).

Colonel Ralph Anderson Chaffey, V.D., Officer Commanding the Canterbury Military District (temp.).

Colonel Robert Ward Tate, Officer Commanding the Wellington Military District (temp.).

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) John Edward Hume, Officer Commanding the Auckland Military District (temp.).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
