IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of Park Road and Farrer Street, in the Town of Horotiu Extension No. 2, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Nelson Land Board being held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, at 10 o'clock a.m. on Thursday, 13th January, 10th February, 9th March, 13th April, 11th May, 8th June, 13th July, 10th August, 14th September, 12th October, 9th November, and 14th December during the year 1916.

Meetings of Marlborough Land Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, under section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Marlborough Land Board being held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, at 10 o'clock a.m. on Tuesday, 11th January, 15th February, 14th March, 11th April, 9th May, 13th June, 11th July, 15th August, 12th September, 10th October, 14th November, and 12th December during the year 1916.

Prohibition of Money-orders and Postal Correspondence for R. H. Barraden, Sydney.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in a fraudulent business, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name) shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XVI, Patetere North Survey District, for Road Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block XVI, Patetere North Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ngatira, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece land required to be taken: 18 acres 1 rood.

Portion of Whaiti-Kuranui No. 1 B.Y. (S.O. 18246), Block XVI, Patetere North Survey District.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39179, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured blue.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIII, Waihou Survey District, for the more Effective Carrying-out of Drainage and Other Works in the Hauraki Plains.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the more effective carrying-out of drainage and other works authorized by the latter Act. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Thames, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 24·1 perches.

Portion of Mangawhero No. 1c No. 2b Section 1 (S.O. 18608), Block XIII, Waihou Survey District.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Opotiki County Council.—Notice No. 1818.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Opotiki County Council has, by special order, declared the following plants to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction: Bathurst burr, broom, foxglove, ox-eye daisy, gorse.

Introduction into Australia of Hay, Chaff, and Straw for Fodder Purposes permitted.—Notice No. 1819.

Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce,
Wellington, 4th January, 1916.

WITH reference to the notification published in the New Zealand Gazette of 14th November, 1912, that the Commonwealth of Australia had prohibited the introduction of straw or hay for fodder purposes, and to the notification published in the Gazette of 28th November, 1912, that this restriction had been modified by permitting the introduction of straw or hay for fodder purposes from New Zealand, advice has now been received that the restriction has been further modified by permitting the importation into Australia of hay, chaff, or straw for fodder purposes from New Zealand.
