to the western boundary of Whangaroa County; thence
towards the north-east by Whangaroa County, as described
in the New Zealand Gazette of the 27th November, 1913,
page 3528, to a point on the road forming the southern
boundary of Matawherohia Parish, at the western boundary
of a forest reserve (2,112 acres), by that reserve and its
western boundary produced to the middle of the Waipapa
River, by a line along the middle of that river to its con-
fluence with the Whakanekeke Stream, and along the
middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-
eastern boundary of Section No. 2, Block V, Omapere Survey
District; thence by a right line to and by the said north-
eastern boundary to Section No. 40, Block V aforesaid, by
that section, across a road, by Sections Nos. 41 and 62,
across a road, by Sections Nos. 63, 21, and 57, Block V,
to the north-western corner of Section No. 58, Block IX ;
thence by the said Section No. 58 and Section No. 61, across
a road, and by Section No. 60, Block IX, and the south-
western boundary of that section produced to the middle of
the Utakura River; thence by a line along the middle of
that river to its confluence with the Waihoanga Stream,
and by that stream to its southernmost source; thence
by a right line to the source of the Rakauwahi Stream, and
along that stream to the north-eastern corner of Section
No. 1, Block XIV, Omapere Survey District; thence by the
eastern boundary of that section and the eastern boundary
of Punakitere No. 2 and No. 2A Blocks to the Punakitere
River, and by that river to the Mangakahia—Kaikohe
Road; thence by that road to a point where it is intersected
by a right line from Trig. Station No. 18 on Tarai-o-Rahiri
to Trig. Station No. 43 on Tutamoe; thence towards the
south-east by the said right line to Trig. Station No. 43 on
Tutamoe; thence towards the south by a right line through
Trig. Station No. 119 on Maunganui Bluff to the ocean; and
thence towards the south-west generally by the ocean and
Herekino Harbour to the place of commencement.

PEWHAI RANGI DISTRICT.

All that area bounded towards the north-west by the
Mangonui District as described in the New Zealand Gazette
of the 17th May, 1906, page 1284, from the Hokianga District
hereinbefore described to the sea; towards the north-east
generally by the sea to Helena Bay; towards the south-east
generally by Sections 11, 14, 2, 1, 15, and 16, Block I, Opu-
awhanga Survey District, and Section 1, Block IV, Hukerenui
Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-
mentioned section; thence by a right line to Trig. Station
No. 18 on Tarai-o-Rahiri; thence by a right line in the direc-
tion of Trig. Station No. 43 on Tutamoe to the Mangakahia—
Kaikohe Road; and thence towards the south-west generally
by the Hokianga District hereinbefore described to the
Mangonui District, the place of commencement, including
adjacent islands.

Amended Description of Puhipuhi Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Mining Act, 1908 (hereinafter
termed “the said Act”), and of all other powers enabling
me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby revoke the Proclamation constituting the Puhi-
puhi Mining District, published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 130, of the eighteenth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and fifteen, and in lieu thereof do hereby pro-
claim and declare that the boundaries of the said district
shall be those mentioned in the Schedule hereto. And I do
hereby further proclaim and declare that this Proclamation
shall take effect as from the date of gazetting hereof.

SCHEDULE.

PUHIPUHI MINING DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded to-
wards the north by Block XII, Kawakawa Survey District,
and Block IX, Russell Survey District, from the Township
of Kawakawa to the south-eastern corner of Block IX afore-
said; thence towards the east by that block to its north-
eastern corner; thence again towards the north by Blocks VI,
VII, and VIII, Russell Survey District, to the Whangaruru
Harbour; thence towards the east generally by that harbour
and the sea to the northernmost corner of Owai Block in
Helena Bay; thence by the said Owai Block and Blocks II,
V, VIII, and XII, Opuawhanga Survey District, to the
northern boundary of Whangarei Survey District; thence
again towards the north by Blocks XII and XIII to the
north-eastern corner of Section No. 2, Block III, Whangarei
Survey District; thence by a right line to the northernmost
corner of Tuateanui Block; thence by the north-eastern
boundaries of Tuateanui and Kopipi Blocks to the Ngunguru
River, across that river, and again towards the east by the
sea to the Horahora River; thence towards the south by
the Horahora River and the Taheke River to the north-
eastern boundary of the Parahaki Parish; thence by that
parish to the Ngarangirakura Block; thence towards the
south-west generally by that block, Te Konoao, Kotaiha,
Puketotara, and Reretiti Blocks, and by the Whangarei
Parish to the Whangarei-Kawakawa main road; thence
by that road past Hikurangi, Hukerenui, and Towai to the
Township of Kawakawa; and thence by that township to
the southern boundary of Block XII, Kawakawa Survey
District, the place of commencement.

Excepting from the above area:—

All that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in
Block VII, Hukerenui Survey District, being Sections 12
and 13, and containing by admeasurement 511 acres 2 roods
14 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north by
Sections 4, 7, 11, and the Whenuaroa Cinnabar Syndicate’s
Mining Claim, all in Block VII aforesaid; towards the east
generally by a road 100 links wide and a river reserve follow-
ing the Waiariki Stream; towards the south generally by
parts No. 4B North No. 1, No. 4A, No. 1, No. 4A HΔ No. 2B,
and No. 4A No. 4B of the Puhipuhi Block (Native land), and
the crossing of a road 100 links wide.

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, situate
in Blocks IV and VIII, Hukerenui Survey District, being
Sections 6, 16, 17 (cemetery site), 18 (creamery site), 19
(quarry site), 20 (hell site and a township reserve), all within
Block IV; and Sections 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 (school
reserve), 32 (quarry reserve), all within Block VIII; and
containing by admeasurement 1,924 acres 0 roods 8 perches,
more or less. Bounded towards the west by a river reserve
following the Waiariki Stream, towards the north by a road
100 links wide to its intersection with the river reserve
following the Kaimamaku Stream, thence towards the east
by a river reserve following the said stream, thence towards
the south by Section 15 of Block VIII aforesaid, again to-
wards the west by a State-forest plantation, again towards
the east by a road 100 links wide, and towards the south by
No. 5B Puhipuhi Block aforesaid (Native land).

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked L. and S. 5484, deposited in the Head Office, De-
partment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.
