SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—WAITAKI COUNTY.
Ahuriri, Campbell, Hopkins, Longslip, Ohau Lake, Ohau River, and Ward Survey Districts.
Run 528: Area, 17,400 acres; half-yearly rental, £50.
Situated on the Hopkins River. Access is from Omarama, via Benmore Homestead. The distance from Omarama is about thirty-two miles, and that from Kurow Railway-station sixty-eight miles. There is a very fair road to the run. The run comprises a number of river-flats and steep hillsides. The flats are good cattle-country, and the lower hillsides good sheep-country. Very well watered by Temple Creek, Dobson River, and smaller streams. Altitude, from 1,700 ft. to 7,000 ft. above sea-level. No improvements.
Run 529: Area, 16,350 acres; half-yearly rental, £37 10s.; valuation for improvements, £244 8s.
Situated at the head of Ohau Lake, between Barrier Range and Dobson River. Access by very fair road from Omarama, which is distant about thirty miles. The run comprises river-flats suitable for cattle-grazing, and steep hillsides suitable for sheep. There is an area of good agricultural land on Maitland Creek. Very well watered by Maitland and numerous smaller creeks. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 7,000 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of wool-shed, cottages, cattle-yards, and fencing.
Run 530: Area, 14,170 acres; half-yearly rental, £62 10s.; valuation for improvements, £70 15s. 6d.
Situated on Lake Ohau, about twenty-three miles from Omarama by a very fair road. The run comprises good flats and terraces and steep hillsides. There is an area of cultivable land convenient to the lake, and ample water for irrigation in various small streams. Very well watered. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 6,600 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing and a hut.
Run 531: Area, 12,267 acres; half-yearly rental, £50; valuation for improvements, £78 15s.
Situated on Lake Ohau, about eighteen miles from Omarama by a very fair road. The run generally comprises undulating country, but there are some steep faces along the western boundary. Very well watered by numerous creeks. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 3,600 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 532: Area, 16,115 acres; half-yearly rental, £105; valuation for improvements, £333 17s.
Situated to the north-east of the Ahuriri River, about twelve miles from Omarama. Access is by a fair dray-track, there being no formed road from Omarama. The run comprises very fair flats and steep hillsides. Very well watered by Quailburn, Ribbonwood, and other creeks. Altitude, 1,900 ft. to 5,700 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 533: Area, 7,580 acres; half-yearly rental, £70; valuation for improvements, £309 6s.
Situated about ten miles from Omarama. There is no formed road to the run from the Ahuriri Bridge on the Omarama–Benmore Road, but there is a good and nearly level dray-track. The run comprises a number of small flats and steep hillsides, with generally a south-westerly and north-westerly aspect. Very well watered. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 5,400 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 534: Area, 8,200 acres; half-yearly rental, £112 10s.; valuation for improvements, £239 17s.
Situated to the east of Diadem Range and north of Ahuriri River. The distance from Omarama is about nine miles. Two miles is by formed road, and the remaining seven miles is by unformed road quite suitable for dray traffic. The run comprises a large extent of level land, in addition to some steep hillsides. The general aspect is easterly. Very well watered by numerous creeks. Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 4,700 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 535: Area, 9,800 acres; half-yearly rental, £125; valuation for improvements, £259 9s.
Situated on the Henburn and Quailburn, about nine miles from Omarama—two miles being by formed road, and seven miles by unformed road which is quite suitable for dray traffic. The run comprises some good flats along the Quailburn, and some steep hillsides, with a general easterly aspect. Well watered. Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 4,700 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 544: Area, 8,953 acres; half-yearly rental, £75; valuation for improvements, £41 11s.
Situated about twelve miles from Omarama Post-office and forty-eight miles from Kurow Railway-station by a good road. The run comprises undulating land, fairly well grassed with tussock and native grasses. Part of the land is of fair quality, but generally speaking it is light and shingly. Watered by Wairepo Creek, and bounded towards the north by Lake Ohau. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
NOTE.—The Land Board will exercise its discretionary power in order to exclude from the ballot all single men of military age who are unable to produce evidence of rejection from active service.
Where road-deviations have been made the existing roads are to be left open for traffic until the new roads are formed. Possession will be given on 1st May, 1916.

Pastoral Runs in Otago Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be offered for license by public auction at the Courthouse, Oamaru, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 18th March, 1916, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments.

Run 545, Class A: Area, 13,400 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £300; valuation for improvements, £163 10s. 6d.
Situated about fourteen miles from Omarama Post-office and fifty miles from Kurow Railway-station by a good formed road. The run comprises level and terrace land, with some warm slopes to the west of Wairepo Creek, and a tableland towards the north-west boundary. Watered by the Ohau River and Wairepo Creek. Altitude, 1,650 ft. to 2,300 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 546, Class A: Area, 11,827 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £345; valuation for improvements, £385 15s.
Situated about twelve miles from Omarama by a good road. The run comprises a large proportion of well-grassed mountain slopes with a north-westerly aspect. The remainder is shingly flat and fair terrace. Well watered by Wairepo Creek and numerous branches. Altitude, 1,600 ft. to 4,000 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 547, Class A: Area, 11,230 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £425; valuation for improvements, £359.
Situated about seventeen miles from Omarama Post-office by a good road. The run comprises first-class mountain-slopes, well clad with tussock and native grasses. The aspect is north-easterly. There are several small areas of cultivable land along the side of the river. Well watered by the Ohau River and several gullies. Altitude, 1,600 ft. to 5,000 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 548, Class A: Area, 11,670 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £425; valuation for improvements, £319 4s.
Situated about twenty-six miles from Omarama, which is thirty-six miles from Kurow railway-station by a good road. The road from Omarama to the run is good for seventeen miles, but the remaining nine miles is unformed. The run comprises first-class mountain-slopes, which are well clad with tussock and native grasses. The aspect generally is easterly. There are several small areas of cultivable land along the river. Well watered by Waitaki River, Falston Creek, and branches. Altitude, 1,600 ft. to 6,000 ft. above sea-level. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 549, Class A: Area, 8,235 acres; term, twenty-one years; upset annual rental, £320; valuation for improvements, £271 16s.
Situated about thirty miles from Omarama, seventeen miles being by good road and thirteen miles by unformed road. The run comprises first-class mountain-slopes, which are well clad with tussock and native grasses. There are several small areas of cultivable land along the foothills. The aspect generally is easterly. Well watered by Waitaki
