Defining the Middle-line of a Portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway — namely, Portion of Wairoa Section (towards Gisborne).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway—namely, from the end of the authorized line at Hangaroa to the end of the authorized line in Block III, Puketapu Survey District (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1915: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Commencing at a point in Subdivision 13, Paeroa No. 1E Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District, marked 0 miles, and proceeding thence in a northerly direction generally for a distance of about two miles, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., Subdivisions 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 7B, 7A, 6 of Paeroa 1E Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District, and Subdivision 2, Paeroa No. 1E Block, Blocks I, Clyde, and XVII, Opoiti Survey Districts, and terminating at a point on the northern boundary of the said Subdivision 2, Paeroa No. 1E Block, Block XVII, Opoiti Survey District, near the left bank of the Wairoa River, marked 2 miles: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, streets, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay. As the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39469, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Commencing at a point in Subdivision 13, Paeroa No. 1E Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District, marked 0 mile, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly and then westerly and then north-westerly direction generally for a distance of about 2 miles 55 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., Subdivision 13, Paeroa No. 1E Block, Te Rato No. 1A Block, and Te Rato Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District; Taumata-o-Teo Block, Subdivision 4, Te Whakapau Block, Block V, Clyde Survey District; Te Wharepu Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District; Subdivisions 3, 2, 1, 5K, and 5J, Te Whakapau Block, Block V, Clyde Survey District; Lots 4, 5, and 6 of Subdivision 3 (E.R.) and Subdivisions 2, 4, and 5, Turiroa Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District; and terminating at a point in the said Subdivision 5, Turiroa Block, marked 2 miles 55 chains; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, streets, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay. WHEREAS a branch railway from the East Coast Main Trunk Railway to and along the left bank of the Wairoa River, opposite the Town of Wairoa (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1915: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Commencing at a point in Lot 12, Paeroa No. 1E, Block I, Clyde Survey District, marked 0 mile, and proceeding thence in a southerly, easterly, southerly, westerly, and easterly direction generally for a distance of about 1 mile 79 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., Lots 12 and 13, Paeroa No. 1E, Te Rato No. 1A, Block I, Clyde Survey District, Taumata-o-Teo Block, Block V, Clyde Survey District, Subdivision No. 6, Orangitirohia Block, Sections 33, 34, 35, 36, and 42, Sub. No. 6, Orangitirohia Block, the strip of land situated between Sub. No. 2, Awatere Block, and the Wairoa River, and Sub. No. 2, Awatere Block, Block II, Clyde Survey District, the eastern termination being at a point in the said Sub. No. 2, Awatere Block, near the Awatere Stream, marked 1 mile 64 chains, and the western termination being at a point marked B near William Kettle’s wharf on the Wairoa River, about 15 chains west of the point marked 1 mile 18 chains: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, streets, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Hawke’s Bay Land District.
