NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Auckland Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 18th December, 1916.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 26th February, 1917.

The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for sixty-six years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of sixty-six years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 28th February, 1917, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held on Wednesday, 28th February, 1917, at 2.30 o’clock p.m.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AWAKINO COUNTY.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Awakino North Survey District.

SECTION 5A, Block VIII: Area, 414 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £1,240. Instalment on deferred payment (without interest), £62. Half-yearly rent on lease, £24 16s.

Altitude, 30 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level. Hilly land, steep near Pukewhero Trig. Station, covered with fairly heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, rimu, rata, nikau, &c., and a small area of black birch near Mokau River. Soil of good quality, on papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant about six miles from Mokau by road unformed as yet, or eight miles and a half by river.

Section 6, Block VIII: Area, 292 acres. Capital value, £780. Instalment on deferred payment (without interest), £39. Half-yearly rent on lease, £15 12s.

Altitude, 30 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Hilly land, with good flat-topped ridges, steep near Mokau River; all covered with heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, rimu, rata, nikau, and a small quantity of birch near Mokau River, with undergrowth of karewa, karamu, punga, &c. Soil of good quality, on papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant about seven miles from Mokau by Mangoira Road, not yet formed, or nine miles and a quarter by river.

Section 15, Block X: Area, 291 acres. Capital value, £870. Instalment on deferred payment (without interest), £43 10s. Half-yearly rent on lease, £17 8s.

Altitude, 30 ft. to 450 ft. above sea-level. Hilly land, with good flat-topped ridges, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, rimu, tawhero, rata, &c., with medium undergrowth of karewa, karamu, konini, &c. Soil of good quality, on papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant about nine miles and a half from Mokau by Mangoira Road, not yet formed, or about twelve miles and a half by river. The telephone-line from Awakino to Mangaawakino traverses the section, and all necessary rights in connection with same are reserved.

Awakino Survey District.

Section 1, Block II: Area, 457 acres. Capital value, £1,210. Instalment on deferred payment (without interest), £60 10s. Half-yearly rent on lease, £24 4s.

Altitude, 20 ft. to 650 ft. above sea-level. Hilly land, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, nikau, kohekohe, rimu, rata, &c., with undergrowth of karewa, &c. Soil of good quality, on papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant about three miles from Mokau by river, which is navigable for craft of from 80 to 100 tons, and on which oil-launches are plying for hire.

Section 2, Block II: Area, 365 acres. Capital value, £1,450. Instalment on deferred payment (without interest), £72 10s. Half-yearly rent on lease, £29.

Altitude, 30 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Mostly hilly land, with a fair amount of flat along river; about 30 or 40 acres of old clearing, now overgrown, balance covered with heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, nikau, a little kohekohe, rimu, rata, &c., with undergrowth of karewa, &c. Soil of good quality, on papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant about four miles from Mokau by river, and about the same distance by road unformed as yet.

Section 3, Block III: Area, 282 acres. Capital value, £840. Instalment on deferred payment (without interest), £42. Half-yearly rent on lease, £16 16s.

Altitude, 30 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. About 20 acres good flat on Mokau River, balance hilly land with flat-topped ridges. There is an old Native clearing at western corner, remainder of section covered with mixed forest comprising tawa, rimu, rata, nikau, &c., with undergrowth of karewa, karamu, konini, punga, &c. Soil of good quality, on papa formation; well watered by streams. Distant about ten miles and a half from Mokau by river, or about eight miles by Mangoira Road unformed as yet.
