Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth day of December, 1916.

THE HONOURABLE J. ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

O N the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Hopuhopu Drainage District Special-rating Area, situated within the County of Waikato, taken on Tuesday, the 12th day of December, 1916, upon the proposal of the Waikato County Council to borrow the sum of £400 for the purpose of widening and deepening Stubbing’s Creek.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 24.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.

£7,000 Loan for Electric Lighting.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I have the honour to inform you that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 13th instant for and against the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Feilding to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913) for the purpose of installing additional plant at the electric-lighting station and for the payment of spare parts already purchased out of overdraft was as follows: For the proposal, 145; against the proposal, 15.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 41 of the Land Act, 1908, and regulations thereunder, the result of the poll taken by me on the 14th day of December, 1916, for the election of a member of the Canterbury Land Board, to be as follows:—
