Huntress Creek Drainage District, County of Opotiki, constituted.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth day of December, 1916.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE J. ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the third section of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Opotiki, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the said area be constituted a drainage district under the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the third section of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a district for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, and to be called by the name of the “Huntress Creek Drainage District”; and also, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fourth section of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the Board of Trustees of the said district shall consist of five persons to be elected as members of the said Board, and under and in accordance with the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

HUNTRESS CREEK DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks II and VI, Opotiki Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the sea for a distance of about 88 chains from the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 371, Block II, Opotiki Survey District, to the western side of the road running southerly from the coast-line to the northern boundary of Section No. 384 of the said Block II; towards the east generally along the said side of the last-mentioned road (following its western bend in Section No. 384 aforesaid) to its junction at Kukumoa Cutting with the road running in a south-easterly direction; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 404, Block VI, of the said district, and by its eastern boundary; towards the south by Section No. 405 of the said Block VI; and towards the west generally by the eastern side of the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 401, Block VI aforesaid, and Section No. 16 of the said Block II, to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to and by the said Section No. 16 and Sections Nos. 22, 21, 18, 17, 14, 13, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4 of Block II aforesaid to the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 371 aforesaid, and by the eastern side of that road to the sea, the place of commencement.

Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth day of December, 1916.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.
