Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of City of Christchurch.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 15th December, 1916.

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the County of Heathcote, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor, praying that the said area may be excluded from the said county and included in the City of Christchurch. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of the Borough of Woolston; thence along the north-eastern boundary of that borough, being the south-western side of Linwood Avenue, to a point opposite the junction of the western side of McGregor’s Road with the said Linwood Avenue; thence across that avenue and along the western side of McGregor’s Road and across that road to Ruru Road, along the northern and western sides of that road to and across Rudd’s Road, along the northern side of that road to Kearney’s Road, along the western side of Kearney’s Road to Page’s Road, along the southern and eastern sides of that road to and along the south-eastern side of the road intersecting Section 901 to and across Rudd’s Road and along its southern side to and across Kerr’s Road, along its western side to Buckley’s Road, along the north-western side of that road, being the present boundary of the City of Christchurch, to and across Linwood Avenue to the northernmost corner of the Borough of Woolston, the place of commencement.
