TUA-TUA-MOANA DRAINAGE BOARD.

THE following resolution, making a special rate of six farthings in the pound on all rateable property in the above special-rating district, was duly passed on the 18th day of November, 1916 :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Tua-Tua-Moana Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows,—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised by the Tua-Tua-Moana Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction of drainage-works, the said Tua-Tua-Moana Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate, calculated on a classification basis, and sufficient to produce six farthings in the pound, upon the rateable value of all the rateable property in the Tua-Tua-Moana Drainage District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TE RAPA DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION PASSED AT SPECIAL MEETING ON FRIDAY, 13TH OCTOBER, 1916.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Te Rapa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorized to be raised by the Te Rapa Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of deepening existing drains and making new ones, the said Te Rapa Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound on all lands classified “A,” 3/16 of a penny in the pound on lands classified “B,” and 1/8 of a penny in the pound on lands classified “C,” upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Te Rapa Drainage Board’s Nos. 1, 2, and 4 Areas; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of November and May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between RICHARD ALEXANDER MEEK and WILLIAM SAMUEL MEEK, carrying on business as Mantle and Clothing Manufacturers at Dundonald Street in the City of Auckland, under the style or firm of “R. & W. Meek,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the thirty-first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

All debts due and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by RICHARD ALEXANDER MEEK, who will continue to carry on the said business.

PICON ROAD BOARD.

EXTRACTS FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1916, AT 10.15 A.M.

Special Order authorizing Loan of £500.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Picton Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

  1. That the Board proceed to raise a loan of five hundred pounds (£500) for the purpose of meeting the balance of the Board’s share of the cost of building a bridge over the Opawa River at the end of Grove Road, Blenheim, and making approaches thereto, such amount being the apportioned contribution payable by the Board under the Governor’s Warrant gazetted page 2110, Gazette, 1914.

  2. That the said loan be called “The Picton Road Board Opawa Bridge Contribution Loan of £500, 1917.”

  3. That the currency of the said loan shall be for a period of thirty-six and a half years, commencing from the date the advance is made by the State Advances Office.

  4. That the interest on the said loan shall be at the rate of four pounds ten shillings (£4 10s.) per centum per annum, and that the loan shall be repayable in half-yearly instalments of principal and interest, in accordance with the provisions of section 68 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

  5. That the Board doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the payment of the said loan and interest, sinking fund, and other charges thereon the annually recurring special rate of one-fortieth (1/40th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Picton Road District, payable yearly on the first day of July in each year.

  6. That the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest be paid out of the loan.

The common seal of the Picton Road Board was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Picton Road Board in the presence of—

We hereby certify that the foregoing special order, raising a special loan of £500 for the purpose of meeting the balance of the Board’s share of the cost of building a bridge over the Opawa River at the end of Grove Road, Blenheim, and making approaches thereto, was duly passed at a special meeting of the Picton Road Board held on the fourteenth day of October, 1916, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the eighteenth day of November, 1916, such subsequent meeting being held not sooner than the 28th day after such special meeting and not later than the 70th day after such special meeting; and that public notice of the time and place fixed for such subsequent meeting and of such special order was duly given once in each of the four weeks immediately preceding the date of such subsequent meeting—namely, in the
