Road, the said Hutt County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one one-hundred-and-fortieth of a penny
(1/140th) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rate-
able property of the No. 11 Special-rating Area (Wainuiomata
Bridge), comprising the lands in the said special-rating area,
being the several sections and blocks hereinafter enumerated,

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan ; and be payable on
the first day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being for a period of 36½ years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Hutt was hereto affixed on the
11th July, 1916.

I, ROBERT WILLIAM FELKIN, Licentiate Royal
College of Physicians Edinburgh, 4th August, 1884,
Licentiate Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, 4th August,
1884, now residing in Havelock North, hereby give notice
that I intend applying on the 5th December, 1916, next to
have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Do-
minion of New Zealand ; and that I have deposited the
evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of
Births and Deaths at Wellington.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Hamilton Borough
Council proposes to execute certain public works—
to wit, the erection of buildings, plant, and appliances for
the production and storage of gas, with residences for work-
men and accommodation for materials, supplies, and waste
products ; for which purpose the following lands will require
to be taken by the Hamilton Borough Council under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, that is to say,—

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and
6 perches and seventeen hundredths of a perch, being Allot-
ment No. 320 of the Town of Hamilton West. And also all

that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
1 acre and 1 perch and ninety-eight hundredths of a perch,
being Allotment No. 325 of the Town of Hamilton West.

A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is
open for inspection at the office of the Hamilton Borough
Council, Hamilton.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such
works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing
to the Hamilton Borough Council within forty days from the
date of the first publication of this notice.
