ADVERTISEMENTS.

INVERCARGILL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Council of the Borough of Invercargill hereby resolves by special order as follows :—

1. To borrow the sum of £1,000 as a special loan for the purpose of paying off the loan of £1,000 of the previously existing Borough of Gladstone, now part of the Borough of Invercargill, which falls due on the 1st day of February, 1917.

2. That the said loan shall be raised by the issue of debentures payable at periods of not less than one year, and not more than forty years from the 1st day of February, 1917, and bearing interest not exceeding the rate of 5 per centum per annum.

3. That the said loan and the interest thereon shall be secured upon the annual income and revenues of the Corporation of the Borough of Invercargill, and also upon a sinking fund of £1 per centum per annum on the amount of the said loan ; and such interest and sinking fund shall also be secured by a special rate upon all the rateable property within that part of the borough which immediately before union with then adjoining boroughs was the Borough of Gladstone (that is, the area to which the said loan to be paid off applies) sufficient to meet the periodical payments of the said interests and sinking fund, and 10 per centum more than such payments.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a meeting of the Council of the Borough of Invercargill held on the 9th day of November, 1916.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the loan of £1,300 authorized to be raised by the Whangarei Borough Council, under section 18 of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the undertaking and works for which the Whangarei Borough Electric Lighting Loan of £13,000 (1913) was raised, the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifteenth of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Whangarei ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of January and July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution duly passed by the Whangarei Borough Council at a meeting of such Council held on the 23rd day of October, 1916.
