Partial Revocation of Order in Council prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Lands.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of October, 1916.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any Order in Council made under that section may at any time be varied or revoked:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council as set out in Part I of the Schedule hereto, only in so far as it affects the land mentioned in Part II of the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
PART I.
ORDER in Council under section 363 of the Native Land Act, 1909, dated the 30th August, 1915, as extended by Order in Council dated the 21st August, 1916, and published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 2nd September, 1915, and the 24th August, 1916, respectively.
PART II.

Taking Land in the Cook Islands for Cemetery Purposes.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of October, 1916.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and fifty-seven of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, it is provided that the Governor may by Order in Council take any land in the Cook Islands for any public purpose specified in the order: And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a certain public purposeโto wit, for the burial of the dead:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three hundred and fifty-seven of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the burial of the dead.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land situate in the Island of Rarotonga, containing 17 acres (be the same a little more or less), bounded as follows: Commencing from a point on the main road one-half chain northerly from concrete block No. 83; thence westerly along the northern side of the main road, eighty-one chains and a half, to Nikao Creek; thence northerly along the eastern bank of the Nikao Creek to high-water mark; thence easterly along high-water mark, eighty-four chains; thence southerly one chain to the point of commencement. As the said parcel of land is delineated and edged red on the plan numbered 1, signed by the Resident Commissioner of Rarotonga, and deposited in the office of the Registrar of the High Court of the Cook Islands at Rarotonga.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
JOHN O'LOUGHLIN
to be a Trustee, in the place of Thomas Galletly, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Otaio Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Patrick Kennedy, David Stowell, William Kennedy, and George Lyall, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twentieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
JOHN ROMAN HILL
to be a Trustee, in the place of Christie John Le Noel, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Okorako Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Joseph Gordon Coates, Nicholas Silich, Thomas Frederic Martin, and Bruno Webber, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twentieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

HERBERT LUKE
to be a Trustee, in the place of Thomas Wright, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Lepperton Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Francis William Atkinson, Edward Hellier, Harper Bryson Lepper, and Frederick Thomas Crowe, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twentieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908. I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
