AVONDALE ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Avondale Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Avondale Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of formation and metalling of Henry Street, Walton Street, Taylor Street, Orchard Street, part of Layard Street, and Wicklow Avenue in the said road district, the said Avondale Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of two twenty-sevenths of one penny in the £1 upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Avondale Road District in the County of Eden; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Avondale Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying an existing overdraft lawfully incurred in partially rebuilding the Avondale Public Hall, and provision of offices for the purposes of the said Board and of the corporation of the Inhabitants of the Avondale Road District, the said Avondale Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-seventh of one penny in the £1 upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Avondale Road District in the County of Eden; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening of the street known as the main Wadestown Road, and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby given that plans of the land so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and are there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

In the matter of the GUARDIAN, TRUST, AND EXECUTORS COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND (LIMITED).

I, PERCY HENRY UPTON, Manager of the Guardian, Trust, and Executors Company of New Zealand (Limited), do solemnly and sincerely declare—

  1. That the liability of the members is limited.
  2. That the capital of the company is £100,000, divided into 20,000 shares of £5 each.
  3. That the number of shares issued is 20,000.
  4. That calls to the amount of three pounds (£3) per share on 2,500 shares and three shillings (3s.) per share on 17,500 shares have been made, under which the sum of £10,125 has been received.
  5. That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates on the 1st day of July last is £109,329 13s. 7d.
  6. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates on that day is £107,026 14s. 2d.
  7. That the amount of the balance held to the credit of estates under administration on that day is £2,302 19s. 5d.
  8. That the liabilities of the company as on the 1st day of July last were nil.
  9. That the contingent liabilities of the company on deposits on the 1st day of July last were nil.
  10. That the assets of the company on that day were £12,633 9s. 4d.
  11. That the first annual license was issued on the 10th day of March, 1911.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club at a meeting held on the fifteenth day of July, 1916, at Ashhurst, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Fred. John Roberts, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. Fred. John Roberts, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. William Hunt seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—
