HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial Force:—

New Zealand Staff Corps.

Lieutenant (temporary Captain) Digby Edward Cardale is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst doing duty as Mounted Instructor, Expeditionary Force Training Camp, and with effect from 2nd September, 1916.

1st Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry).

The undermentioned Captains to be Majors, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 3rd July, 1916:—

Lieutenant Alexander Robert Neilson to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 28th August, 1916.

New Zealand Garrison Artillery.

Captain Percival Beaumont Greenhough is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, with his original rank and seniority, and absorbed into the establishment. Dated 10th August, 1916.

Lieutenant William Robert Golden to be Captain (Auckland Garrison Artillery Division). Dated 4th September, 1916.

Corps of New Zealand Engineers.

The appointment of Lieutenant (on probation) Arthur Gifford Williams (New Zealand Post and Telegraph Corps) is confirmed.

5th (Wellington) Regiment.

Sergeant Archibald Thomas Bacon to be 2nd Lieutenant (supernumerary to establishment). Dated 5th September, 1916.

6th (Hauraki) Regiment.

Lieutenant Edwin Edwards to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 28th August, 1916.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 28th August, 1916:—

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 38, of the 6th April, relative to Captain William Eugene Stafford Furby being struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the establishment, dated 18th March, 1916, is cancelled.

15th (North Auckland) Regiment.

John Campbell MacDiarmid, M.B., Ch.B., Edin., to be Captain. Dated 27th July, 1916.

New Zealand Dental Corps.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 38, of the 6th April, 1916, relative to the promotion of Lieutenant John Hunter Strauchon, this should read “temporary Captain,” and not “Captain” as therein stated.
