Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Boot and Shoe Dealers’ Shops in the City of Wellington, under the Shops and Offices Act.


WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the boot and shoe dealers’ shops within the City of Wellington, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the city shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: At 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and at 9 p.m. on Friday:

And whereas the Wellington City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the boot and shoe dealers’ shops within the City of Wellington:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 19th day of July, 1915, all boot and shoe dealers’ shops in the City of Wellington shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notice gazetted on the 17th day of December, 1914, fixing the closing-hours of all such shops in the city is hereby cancelled accordingly.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Boot-dealers’ Shops in the Borough of Westport, under the Shops and Offices Act.


WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the boot-dealers’ shops in the Borough of Westport, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the borough shall be closed on the evening of working-days as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 p.m.:

And whereas the Westport Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent the majority of the persons engaged in the trade of boot-dealers within the Borough of Westport:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 19th day of July, 1915, all boot-dealers’ shops in the Borough of Westport shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Dated at Wellington this 12th day of July, 1915.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists’ Shops in the Borough of Westport, under the Shops and Offices Act.


WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops in the Borough of Westport, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 10 p.m.:

And whereas the Westport Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent the majority of the chemists carrying on business in the Borough of Westport:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 19th day of July, 1915, all chemists’ shops in the Borough of Westport shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

NOTE.—The statutory half-holiday is on Thursday, on which day chemists’ shops may reopen from 7 p.m. till 8 p.m. only for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances.

Permit to import Opium.

IT is hereby notified for public information that a permit to import opium in forms which, though not suitable for smoking, may be made suitable has been granted to the undermentioned firm, subject to the provisions of the Opium Act, 1908, the Opium Amendment Act, 1910, and the regulations made thereunder:—

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of a Road in Blocks XIII and XIV, Ikitara Survey District.


NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 93 of the Public Works Act, 1908, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 22nd day of January, 1907.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road taken and laid off: 3 acres 0 roods 18·9 perches, portion of Rakautana 4c No. 5.

Situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Ikitara Survey District.

In the Wellington Land District; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37534, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Dated this 12th day of July, 1915.
