THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

The lights in one, bearing 106°, lead up from the Sandheads Light-vessel to the turn in the channel at Red Conical Buoy No. 4.
Wingdam Range.
Front Light.—An unwatched fixed red light, visible 6 miles in the line of range, exhibited 15 ft. above high water from a cluster of three incandescent electric lamps on a wooden pole near the outer end of Steveston Jetty.
Approx. position: Lat. 49° 7′ 29″ N., long. 123° 13′ 41″ W.
Rear Light.—An unwatched fixed white light, visible 10 miles in the line of range, exhibited 30 ft. above high water from a cluster of three incandescent electric lamps on a wooden pole 300 ft. 64° 45′ from the front light.
The lights in line, bearing 64° 45′, lead up from the turn in the channel at Red Buoy No. 4 to the turn in the channel at Red Buoy No. 16.
North Side Range.
Front Light.—An unwatched fixed red light, visible 4 miles in the line of range, exhibited 24 ft. above high water northward of the site of the old Fraser River Mouth North Dam light.
NOTE.—This light was formerly designated the Fraser River North Dam light, and has been moved northward to its present position, and now becomes the front light of the North Side range.
Approx. position: Lat. 49° 7′ 38″ N., long. 123° 14′ 44″ W.
Rear Light.—An unwatched fixed white light, visible 4 miles in the line of range, exhibited 36 ft. above high water from a small skeleton steel tower, square in plan, with sloping sides, standing on a platform supported on piles, 300 ft. 287° from the front light.
The lights in one astern, bearing 287°, lead up from the turn in the channel at Red Buoy No. 16 to the intersection of their alignment with that of Garry Point range-lights.
Garry Point Range.
Front Light.—An unwatched fixed red light, visible 1 mile in the line of range, exhibited 17 ft. above high water from a cluster of three incandescent electric lamps on a wooden pole on the platform of the tide-gauge at Garry Point.
NOTE.—The existing Garry Point light now becomes the front light of Garry Point range.
Approx. position: Lat. 49° 7′ 18″ long., 123° 11′ 54″ W.
Rear Light.—An unwatched fixed white light, visible 1 mile in the line of range, exhibited 33 ft. above high water from a cluster of three incandescent electric lamps on a wooden pole 300 ft. 318° 30′ from the front light.
The lights in one astern, bearing 318° 30′, lead up from the intersection of their alignment with that of the North Side range-lights to the turn in the channel at Westham Island Government Wharf.
BURRARD INLET. — VANCOUVER HARBOUR. — BROCKTON POINT.—LIGHT AND FOG-SIGNAL MOVED.—NEW STRUCTURE.—The Canadian Government has given notice that the light and fog-signal at Brockton Point Light-station have been moved, and re-established in the new structure recently constructed about 100 ft. 30° from the former site.
The new structure is of reinforced concrete, square in plan, with sloping sides, surmounted by an octagonal iron lantern.
The height of the tower from the base to the top of the ventilator on the lantern is 42 ft.
The light shows white over an arc of 24° from 289° to 313° and red elsewhere.
The fog-bell is suspended from the front face of the new tower.
FIRST NARROWS.—CHARACTERISTIC OF LIGHT CHANGED.—The characteristic of the light on the northern shore of the First Narrows, Burrard Inlet, will be changed without further notice to occulting white every 6 seconds—thus, light 3 seconds, eclipsed 3 seconds.

VANCOUVER ISLAND.—BARKLEY SOUND.—AMPHITRITE POINT LIGHT RE-ESTABLISHED.—CHARACTERISTIC CHANGED.—The Canadian Government has given notice that Amphitrite Point light has been re-established and the provisional light discontinued.
The new light is a 4th-order occulting white light of 1,500 candle-power every 10 seconds—thus, light 7 seconds, eclipsed 3 seconds—elevated 58 ft. above high water, and visible 13 miles. The light is exhibited from a white rectangular concrete building with a circular front, standing on a concrete base 11 ft. high with a circular front, and surmounted by an octagonal iron lantern painted red.
The height of the building from the ground to the top of the ventilator on the lantern is 33 ft.
The illuminant is petroleum vapour burned under an incandescent mantle.

BRAZIL.
NORTH-EAST COAST.—FERNANDO NORONHA ISLAND.—RADIO STATION DISCONTINUED.—The radio station on Fernando Noronha Island has been discontinued.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.
SAMOA ISLANDS.—UPOLU ISLAND.—APIA HARBOUR.—LIGHT DESTROYED.—RANGE DISCONTINUED.—The fixed red rear range-light on Mount Vaka has been destroyed.
This light and the range line will be erased from the charts. The front lighthouse has been painted white and red in horizontal bands.

WASHINGTON.
PUGET SOUND.—POINT NO POINT LIGHT.—CHARACTERISTIC TO BE CHANGED.—INTENSITY TO BE INCREASED.—About 10th May, 1915, the characteristic of Point No Point light will be changed from fixed white to flashing white with 1 group of 3 flashes every 10 seconds.
The luminous power of the new light will be 13,000 candles.
Approx. position: Lat. 47° 54′ 45″ N., long 122° 31′ 31″ W.
PANAMA.
PANAMA BAY.—PANAMA CANAL ENTRANCE.—BUOYS DISCONTINUED.—Information has been received from the Governor of the Canal Zone that on 15th March, 1915, black spar buoys Nos. 17 and 19, Panama Canal entrance, would be permanently discontinued.
AFUERA ISLAND.—LIGHT ESTABLISHED.—A flashing white light every 3 seconds—thus, flash 0·3 second, eclipsed 2·7 seconds—visible 9 miles, has been established on the western end of Afuera Island, between Coiba or Quibo Island and the mainland.
Approx. position: Lat. 7° 40′ 30″ N., long. 81° 38′ W.

PORT NUEVO ENTRANCE.—ENTRADA POINT.—LIGHT ESTABLISHED.—A flashing white light, with red sector, every 3 seconds—thus, light 0·3 second, eclipsed 2·7 seconds, visible 9 miles, has been established on Entrada Point, southern side of the entrance to Port Nuevo. The light shows red over a small island to the westward.
Approx. position: Lat. 8° 4′ 30″ N., long. 81° 43′ 30″ W.

DAVID BAY.—LINARTES ISLANDS.—RANGE-LIGHTS ESTABLISHED.—Two range-lights (the front occulting white every 10 seconds—thus, light 5 seconds, eclipsed 5 seconds; and the rear flashing white every 3 seconds—thus, flash 0·3 second, eclipsed 2·7 seconds), both visible 5 miles, have been established on the Linartes Islands to lead to the anchorage.

PANAMA HARBOUR.—KNOCKER ROCK.—BUOY REPLACED BY GAS-BUOY.—The red nun buoy formerly marking Knocker Rock has been replaced by a gas-buoy painted black, and showing a flashing white light every 3 seconds—thus, flash 0·3 second, eclipsed 2·7 seconds—moored ¾ mile 100° from the S.E. Bastion, Panama City.
PANAMA BAY.—WESTERN SHORE.—LIGHTS AND GAS-BUOY DISCONTINUED.—The following lights and gas-buoy, heretofore established in Panama Bay and maintained during the construction of the canal, have been discontinued :—
Changarmi Island Light.—Approx. position: Lat. 8° 53′ 40″ N., long. 79° 33′ 6″ W.
