Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Manutahi Domain.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of June, 1915.
Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council, dated the fourteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and published in the Gazette of the sixteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, delegating powers to the Patea County Council in respect of Manutahi Domain, and doth hereby appoint

ALFRED MUGGERIDGE,
GEORGE GEARY, SYDNEY CHANNING TONKS, ALBERT EDWARD WILLS, and LESLIE RICHARD HAMILTON

to be the Manutahi Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Manutahi Hall as the place where, the first meeting of the said Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
MANUTAHI DOMAIN.
All that area of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 2 perches, more or less, being part of section numbered 9 on the plan of the Manutahi Ten-acre Settlement, Block XIV, Hawera Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 830.5 links; towards the south-east by other part of Section 9, 453 links; towards the south-west by Section 8, 830 links ; and towards the north-west by a public road, 454.2 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/197, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Revoking Order in Council licensing Thomas Samuel Davies to occupy a Part of the Foreshore at Kairoperepe, Queen Charlotte Sound, as a Site for Jetties.

At the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of July, 1915.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16 of the fifth day of the following month, His Excellency the Governor in Council did, in pursuance of the Harbours Act, 1908, license Thomas Samuel Davies to occupy parts of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Kairoperepe, in Queen Charlotte Sound, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining thereon two jetties in accordance with plan marked M.D. 4207, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, and upon and subject to the terms and conditions therein set forth : And whereas the said Thomas Samuel Davies has applied to have the said license revoked, and it is desirable that it should be revoked:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke and determine the said-recited Order in Council of the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred.

Prohibiting Trawling in Akaroa Harbour.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of July, 1915.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the fifth section of the Fisheries Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), that the Governor in Council may from time to time make regulations, which shall have force and effect throughout New Zealand, or only in any waters or places specified therein, for, amongst other things, imposing conditions and restrictions on the taking of fish, and for prohibiting the use of any particular engines, tackles, or apparatus for taking any fish: And whereas it is desirable to prohibit the taking of fish by trawling and the use of trawl-nets in Akaroa Harbour:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations for the purposes of the said Act.

REGULATIONS.
(1.) No person shall haul or use a trawl-net for the purpose of taking fish in Akaroa Harbour inside a right line drawn from the outermost point of Iron Head (Timutimu) to Trueni Point.
(2.) Any person committing a breach of clause (1) of these regulations is liable to a penalty of not less than £1 and not exceeding £20.

Regulations for Subsidies on Voluntary Contributions to University Colleges.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of July, 1915.

His Excellency The Governor in Council.

BY virtue of section thirty-three of the New Zealand University Amendment Act, 1914, and of all other powers and authorities hereto him enabling, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth make the following regulations for the payment of subsidies on voluntary contributions provided for by the enactment hereinbefore mentioned; and doth prescribe that the same shall come into force on the day of first publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

REGULATIONS.

  1. For the purposes of section 33 of the New Zealand University Amendment Act, 1914, a voluntary contribution shall not be directly or indirectly derived from public endowments or funds or from ordinary sources of revenue, or be a consideration directly or indirectly for the use of public property of any kind, or for services rendered or to be rendered, or be derived of the nature of discount, rebate, or refund; or be derived directly or indirectly from subsidies previously granted or from moneys on which subsidies have been previously granted.
  2. The moneys, land, buildings, &c., constituting any voluntary contributions received by any university college or institution affiliated to the University of New Zealand upon which subsidy is paid, and the subsidies thereon, shall be utilized solely and without deduction for such purposes of the aforesaid college or institution as are defined by the immediately succeeding clause hereof.
  3. Subsidies shall be payable on voluntary contributions to any such college or institution only on condition that these contributions are made available for one or other of the following purposes:—
    (a.) The provision of sites and buildings as approved by the Minister, and the maintenance and improvement thereof.
    (b.) The provision of necessary equipment of a more or less permanent character for the work of the college classes, including the establishment, maintenance, and improvement of college libraries, or (as approved by the Minister) for the physical training of students.
