WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing 15 acres 3 roods 24 perches, more or less, being Section 5, Block V, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a public road, 2056·9 links; towards the north-east by a public road, 1870·6 links; and towards the south-west by a public road, 375·7 and 1565 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. XXII/653, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan 13825/7, blue.) For a site for a roadman’s cottage and a resting-place for travelling stock.
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 32 perches, more or less, being part of Section 6, Block IX, Ngatapa Survey District. Bounded towards the north and west generally by a public road, 174·8, 440·8, 92·9, 342·5, and 96·3 links; and towards the south-east generally by Section 1, Block X, Ngatapa Survey District, 558·6 and 321·9 links.
Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing 1 acre 3 roods, more or less, being the other part of Section 6, Block IX, Ngatapa Survey District. Bounded towards the east generally by a public road, 239·6, 54·1, and 371·2 links; towards the north-west by Section 3, Block IX aforesaid, 530·1 links; and towards the south-west by Section 1, Block IX aforesaid, 543·2 links.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. VI/1 (44), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a resting-place for travelling stock.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section 37, Block XV, Aria Survey District. Bounded towards the north and north-east by Section 7, Block XII, Aria Survey District, 202·3 links and 242·9 links respectively; towards the south-east by the Ohura–Mokau Road, 166·4 links; and towards the south-west by Section 29, Block XV aforesaid, 357·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/1643, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink. For a site for a public hall.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 6 perches, more or less, being Section 9, Mining Township of Golden Bar. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 13, Township of Golden Bar, 74·3 links, and by Crown land, 224·7 links; towards the north-east by Section 8 of said township, 315 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 10·1 links and 48·3 links; and towards the south-west by Section 10 of said township, 315 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. VI/3 (45), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a post-office.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 189 acres, more or less, being Reserve 177, Block XII, Okuru District, and bounded by a line commencing at the most easterly corner of Section 2519, following the boundary of that section for a distance of 1116·4 links to the Haast Pass Road; thence across that road a distance of 150 links; thence 5081·4 links; thence running in a south-easterly direction, still following the boundary of Section 2519, for a distance of 3190 links to a road; thence in a north-easterly direction along that road for a distance of 5199·1 links to the said Haast Pass Road; thence across that road a distance of 184·7 links, still north-easterly a distance of 936·3 links, to the Haast River Road Reserve; thence in a north-westerly direction along the said reserve, 1060·1 links, to a road; thence across that road, 136·9 links; thence 1924·6 links to the point of commencement: save and excepting all roads contained within the aforesaid boundaries: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. VI/1 (41), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For a resting-place for travelling stock.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 38·3 perches, more or less, being Reserve 3961 (formerly part of Section No. 36765), Block XVI, Mount Thomas Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west, 765·4 links, by Section No. 33148; towards the east, 369·8 links, by other part of Section No. 36765; and towards the south, 670·2 links, by a public road: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. VI/5(13), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For gravel purposes.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 1 perch, more or less, being Reserve 3958 (formerly Rural Section 17564), Block VII, Mairaki Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by a half-chain public road, 1474 links; towards the east by Mill Road, 340 links; towards the south by Section 15484, 1474 links; and towards the west by Reserve 2422, 340 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/75, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a public recreation-ground.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being Section 10, Block LIV, Town of Lawrence. Commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary-line of Section 4 of aforesaid block, distant in a north-easterly direction 46·5 links from the southern corner of said Section 4; thence bounded towards the north-west by part of said Section 4 and part of Section 5 of aforesaid block, 574·4 links; and towards the south-east and south by lines running through Crown lands bearing 190° 43′, 162·8 links, bearing 224° 51′, 100·3 links, bearing 262° 29′, 131·1 links, and bearing 268° 25′, 283·3 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/360D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. As an addition to a public recreation-ground.
