And whereas the Education Board of the Education District of Nelson has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said public school, and shall as from the date hereinafter specified vest in the Education Board of the Education District of Nelson; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 2 acres.
Portion of part Section 220, “Motueka Original,” Borough of Motueka.
Situated in Block III, Motueka Survey District.

In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37630, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon edged green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Revoking a Proclamation taking Land for the Purposes of a Rifle Range in Block XXXV, Clutha District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation, or the making or gazetting thereof, the Governor may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary:

And whereas it is found that the land in Block XXXV, Clutha District, taken for the purposes of a rifle range by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 44, pages 953 and 954, of the twenty-fifth day of the same month, is not required for the purpose for which it was taken: And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said land has not been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation.

Consenting to Stopping a Road in Block XII, Alexandra Survey District, Tuhikaramea Road District, Waipa County.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of May, 1915.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:

And whereas the Tuhikaramea Road Board has applied for such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Tuhikaramea Road Board stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road permitted to be stopped:—

2 acres 0 roods 18·6 perches, adjoining or passing through Allotments 273, 274, and 294.

5 acres 0 roods 2 perches, adjoining or passing through Allotments 272, 273, and 292.

Situated in Block XII, Alexandra Survey District, Tuhikaramea Parish (S.O. 17834). D.Ps. 3226 and 661.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37109, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring a Portion of Mangapoike Valley Road, in the Wairoa County, to be a County Road.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of May, 1915.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Mangapoike Valley Road, in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Wairoa County, commencing at the Makaretu Bridge at the south-western corner of Section 2, Mangapoike 1b Block, Block XI, Opoiti Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction generally, adjoining or passing through the said Section 2, Mangapoike 1b Block, Section 1, Section 2, Mangapoike 1r Block, Block XI, Opoiti Survey District, and terminating at the Mangapoike River on the northern boundary of the said Section 2, Mangapoike 1r Block, being a distance of four miles, more or less; as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 37832, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon indicated by a broken red line.
