FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
THAT, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 31
of the Counties Act, 1908, the Franklin County Council hereby
makes a special order to abolish the Pukekohe West Road
District and merge the same into the Franklin County as from
31st March, 1915, and will be submitted for confirmation at
an ordinary meeting on 4th March, 1915.
I certify the above special order was made and confirmed
as by law required.

BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Special Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough
of Greymouth was taken on the 25th day of March, 1915, on
the proposal of the Greymouth Borough Council to borrow
the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of defraying the Council’s
share of the cost of reconstructing the superstructure of Cobden
Bridge.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 133, the
number of votes recorded against the proposal was 37, the
number of informal votes was 2.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Special Loans.
IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, public notice is hereby given that a poll of the rate-
payers of the Borough of Taumarunui was taken on the 18th
day of March, 1915, to raise special loans amounting to the
sum of £20,234, amounts and voting as follows :—
(1.) Subsidizing the cost of the erection of a bridge across
the Wanganui River at Taumarunui, £1,000 : Total
number of votes recorded for the proposal, 126 ;
total number of votes recorded against the pro-
posal, 18 ; majority for the proposal, 108.
(2.) Drainage extension to Rangaroa, Ngatai’s Extension,
Bell’s Extension ; Maata, Tumoana, Turaki, and
Taitua Streets ; Manuaute, Taumarunui, Marae, and
Huia Streets, £8,434 : Total number of votes re-
corded for the proposal, 45 ; total number of votes
recorded against the proposal, 39 ; majority for the
proposal, 6.
(3.) Formation of streets and footpaths at Matapuna, for-
mation of streets and footpaths at Rangaroa Village
Settlement, metalling and formation of footpaths in
Hakiaha Street from Katarina to Turaki Street, also
the footpath in Manuaute Street from Hakiaha
Street to Miriama Street, £5,440 : Total number of
votes recorded for the proposal, 79 ; total number
of votes recorded against the proposal, 61 ; majority
for the proposal, 18.
The majority of votes being in favour of the proposals
marked (1), (2), and (3), we therefore declare the said pro-
posals carried.
(4.) Purchase of land and erection of municipal hall, £5,500 :
Total number of votes recorded for the proposal, 54 ;
total number of votes recorded against the pro-
posal, 89 ; majority against the proposal, 35.
The majority of votes being against the proposal, we there-
fore declare the said proposal lost.

BOROUGH OF MOUNT EDEN.
Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers
of the Borough of Mount Eden, on the proposal to borrow a
sum of £135,000, was taken on the 12th day of April, 1915,—
(a.) For the construction of permanent drainage-works
within the borough, the sum of £115,000 ;
(b.) For provision of additional water-mains and the im-
provement of the existing waterworks system
within the borough, the sum of £10,000 ;
(c.) For the completion of the construction of the roads and
streets within the borough (including roads and
streets not provided for in previous loans), the sum
of £10,000.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,185,
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 542,
and the number of informal votes was 26.
I have therefore to declare the proposal to be carried.

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations
Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a
petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less
than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the
Schedule hereto, being part of the County of Franklin, has
been presented to His Excellency the Governor, praying that
the said area may be excluded from the said county and
included in the Borough of Pukekohe. All persons affected
are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or
petitions against the proposed alteration within one month
