Appointment of Representative to Auckland Hospital Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty-one of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ALFRED HALL SKELTON

to be the representative for the combined district of Auckland City and Mount Albert Borough on the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Notifying Land in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THAMES COUNTY.—WAIHOU SURVEY DISTRICT.—HAURAKI PLAINS.

Rural Land.

SECTION 30, Block II: Area, 37 acres 1 rood 5 perches; upset price, £670.

Altitude, 2 ft. to 4 ft. above sea-level. Partly drained swamp country; rich alluvial soil on clay subsoil; watered only by drains on eastern and southern boundaries. Distant two miles and a quarter by formed cart-road from McKerchar’s Wharf on the Piako River; or from Turua on the Waihou River, four miles by formed cart-road, of which a mile and a quarter is metalled and another two miles is under construction.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Opening Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—

  1. The rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at the respective prices specified in the said Schedule, and shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

  2. The said lands may be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease:

  3. No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said lands for a period of four years from the date from which in each case respectively such lands are disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such lands during such period.

  4. After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

Situated on the Puteore Road. Access from Douglas Railway-station, from twenty-eight miles to thirty-one miles and a half distant—by dray-road for twenty-five miles, bridle-road for remaining distance. Section 8 is also accessible by the Mount Humphries Road, about twenty-seven miles and a half distant from Douglas Railway-station—by dray-road twenty-five miles, bridle-track two miles, unformed road half a mile. The land comprises broken country, with hills and deep valleys, and a few small flats along the Omaru River. The forest is heavy, consisting principally of tawa, tawhero, rimu, rata, &c., with dense undergrowth of mahoe, kotukutuku, raurekau, karamu, hoho, puka, punga, mamaku, tupari, kiekie, supplejack, &c. The soil is good, on a formation principally of papa, with belts of shell rock; well watered.

Situated on the Whakaihuwaka Road. Access from Whangamomona, about twenty miles to twenty-three miles and a half distant, by dray-road to boundary of Section 2. Bridle-track formation for remaining distance is at present in hand. Section 9 is also accessible from Douglas Railway-station, about twenty-seven miles and a half distant, by the Mount Humphries Road—twenty-five miles dray-road, two miles bridle-track, and half a mile unformed. The land is broken, comprising high hills and deep valleys, covered with heavy forest of tawa, tawhero, rimu, rata, and a dense undergrowth of mahoe, kotukutuku, raurekau, hoho, kiekie, tupari, punga, mamaku, karamu, supplejacks, &c. Soil good, on a formation principally papa, with belts of shell rock; well watered.

Opening Village Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the village land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—WAIKOHU COUNTY.—OTOKO VILLAGE.

Village Land (National Endowment).

SECTION 6: Area, 1 rood 10·6 perches; capital value, £20; half-yearly rent, 8s.

Weighted with £5 10s., valuation for improvements consisting of fencing and grassing.

Good building-site, flat land, situated near Otoko Viaduct and Railway-station.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
