whereas by section four of the said Act the Governor is authorized, inter alia, to exchange any such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to the same or one or more of the purposes comprised in the said Class I, and to define the purpose to which such reserve or such land acquired in exchange shall be dedicated: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said metal reserve for other land of equal value, described in Part II of the Schedule hereto, to be dedicated as hereinafter provided :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section four of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the reserve for metal purposes described in Part I of the Schedule hereto is hereby exchanged for the Crown land described in Part II of the Schedule hereto, which, in the opinion of the Governor, is of equal value; and doth also declare that the land described in the said Part I becomes and is Crown land freed from all previous reservation and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and that the land described in the said Part II is hereby reserved for metal purposes, being one of the purposes comprised in the said Class I.
SCHEDULE.
PART I.
Description of Reserve exchanged.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 3, Block I, Mount Cerberus Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 58, Block I, Mount Cerberus Survey District, 812 links, more or less; and on all other sides by closed road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. & S. 1911/1034A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
PART II.
Description of Land obtained in Exchange therefor.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 55, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District. Bounded towards the north and north-east generally by Section 45, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District, 463·7 links and 249·7 links, and by Section 54 of said block, 383·2 links and 608·9 links; and towards the south-east and south-west generally by Towai Road: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. & S. 1911/1034B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Vesting Land in a Maori Land Board under the Provisions of Section 5 of the Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1910.

WHEREAS by section five of the Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1910, it is enacted that the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Native Land Court, by Order in Council vest in the Maori Land Board of the district in which such land is situated, any portion of Native land not exceeding in any case an area of five acres which, in the opinion of the Native Minister, is suitable as a site for any building required for educational purposes :
And whereas all that piece or parcel of land situated in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement five acres, more or less, being the whole of the land comprised in a partition order of the Native Land Court dated the twenty-second day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, and called by the name of Kaikou No. 3, Lot 42, was set aside for a school reserve for the benefit of the Native owners in Kaikou No. 3 Block :
And whereas it is expedient that buildings for educational purposes be erected thereon : And whereas, after due inquiry and consulting the wishes of the Native owners of the said land, the Native Land Court, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in section five of the above-recited Act, has recommended that an Order in Council be issued vesting the said land in the Tokerau District Maori Land Board for an estate in fee-simple in possession, subject to all valid encumbrances, liens, and interests affecting the same, to be held by the said Board for the benefit of the Maori owners therein :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in him by the aforesaid section five, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby vest the land specified in the Schedule hereto in the Tokerau District Maori Land Board as a school-site.

Prison at Templeton proclaimed.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is provided that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a prison, and from and after the gazetting of any such Proclamation, or from any later time specified in the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be deemed a prison :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the buildings erected upon the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and all enclosures used or occupied therewith, shall, from and after the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison, known as the Templeton Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of the Prisons Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres, more or less, being part of Reserve No. 702, Block XII, Rolleston Survey District, commencing at a point on the east side of Barter’s Road, the same being distant 1523·6 links north-west from the intersection of aforesaid road and Riffle Butt Road. Bounded towards the south-east by a line 54° 59′, 299·4 links; towards the north-east by a line 324° 58′, 1000 links; towards the north-west by a line 234° 59′, 999·8 links; towards the south-west by a line 144° 58′, 1000 links; and again towards the south-east by a line 54° 59′, 700·4 links, to the point of commencement: save and except that portion of Barter’s Road one chain in width intersecting the said land: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less: as the same are delineated on the plan marked P.D. 1914/474, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Justice, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
