NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897, the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899, the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purposes of a street; and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and are there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

COUNTY OF TARANAKI.

KOMENE ROAD SPECIAL LOAN, £700.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Taranaki County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700, authorized to be raised by the Taranaki County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for forming and metalling the Komene Road, the said Taranaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five farthings in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Komene Road Special-rating Area, comprising Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, of Section 4, Block 5, Cape Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Taranaki County Council held on the 7th day of December, 1915.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the company held at the office of the company, Bank of Australasia Chambers, Customhouse Quay, Wellington, on Wednesday, the 24th November, 1915, the following special resolution was carried, and confirmed at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting held at the same place on Friday, 10th day of December, 1915, viz.:—

"That the company be forthwith wound up voluntarily."
