Declaring Crown Lands in Westland and Karamea Mining Districts, Nelson Land District, open for Disposal.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation, may from time to time declare any Crown lands within any mining district not held under lease or license, or for which a lease or license has been cancelled, to be open for disposal, as provided in section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-three of the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land as described in the Schedules hereto shall be open on Tuesday, the eleventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, for disposal, as provided in section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act.

And I do also declare that the sections of land described in the First Schedule shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land,” and the section described in the Second Schedule shall be deemed to be “scrub land.”

After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years in the case of “heavy-bush land,” and two years in the case of “scrub land,” shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land, the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

SECOND-CLASS HEAVY-BUSH LAND.

(Exempt from Rent for Four Years.)

Murchison County.—Burnett Survey District.

SECTION 11, Block VIII: Area, 258 acres; capital value, £130; half-yearly rent, £2 12s.

Steep hilly country, of sandstone formation, carrying heavy birch bush. Situated twenty-seven miles from Murchison by dray-road.

Murchison County.—Tutaki Survey District.

Section 18, Block IX: Area, 236 acres; capital value, £120; half-yearly rent, £2 8s.

Formation steep sandstone; northern end of section, burnt 60 acres and covered with rough grass; remainder birch forest. Situated from Murchison six miles by main road and good stock-bridge across Matakita ki River.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

SECOND-CLASS SCRUB LAND.

(Exempt from Rent for Two Years.)

Buller County.—Oparara Survey District.

Section 31, Block IX: Area, 103 acres 0 roods 18 perches; capital value, £60; half-yearly rent, £1 4s.

Flat land, carrying light bush, heavy timber having been cut out. Five miles from Karamea Wharf by dray-road.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Land set apart for Selection.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section sixty-three of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is, amongst other things, enacted that in no case shall any moneys be expended under the provisions of the said section sixty-three in connection with any block of land, unless that block is set apart for selection under that section pursuant to Proclamation in that behalf:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for selection.


SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.

Aria Township No. 2 Block.

SECTIONS 1 and 3 to 10, Block X, and 1 to 7, Block XI, and 1 to 11, Block XII, and 1 to 6, Block XIII, Aria Township; and Sections 16 to 28, 31, 32, 34, 36 to 46, and 48 to 56, Aria Suburbs: Area, 167 acres.

As the same is delineated upon the plan marked L. and S. 5/61, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road near Pukekohe.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Borough of Pukekohe, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
