Notice fixing the Closing-hours of all Shops (except Fruiterers’) in the Wairewa County, under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all shops (except fruiterers’) in the Wairewa County, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the county shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 p.m.: And whereas the Wairewa County Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops within the Wairewa County:

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 15th day of November, 1915, all shops (except fruiterers’) in the County of Wairewa shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notice gazetted on the 25th day of March, 1915, fixing the closing-hours of all shops in the county is hereby cancelled accordingly.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of St. Andrew’s Terrace, Sandwich Road, Braid Road, and Taylor Terrace, in the Town of Frankton Extension No. 34, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Fixing Date on which Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, are to be furnished to the Woolston Fire Board.

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1914, within the Woolston Fire District shall be transmitted to the Woolston Fire Board in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the first day of December, 1915.

Passports for Egypt.

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that His Excellency the Governor has been advised by His Majesty’s Secretary of State for the Colonies that in future persons desiring to land in Egypt must be provided with passports.

Forms of application for passports may be obtained from the Under-Secretary, Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, and no passport will be issued until fourteen days from the date of receipt of application have elapsed.

Person to hold License on Behalf of the King appointed.

to be the person to apply for, receive, and hold, on behalf of His Majesty the King, any licenses or other authorities required to be held or exercised in respect of certain water-races, and all other appurtenances used in connection therewith, in the Provincial District of Otago, hitherto held by the Manuka Mining Company (Limited), under the Mining Act, 1908, as from the 10th day of June, 1915.
