BATAVIA ROADS.—The conical buoy, black and white hor. surm. by a ball, in 6° 4′ 6″ S. 106° 52′ 36″ E., has been replaced exper. by a lt.-buoy, exh. a white lt.; and the red conical buoy, in 6° 41/2′ S. 106° 531/2′ E., has been replaced by a lt.-buoy, conical, red, exh. a fl. white lt., 5 cables 60° (N. 60° E. mag.) from Tanjong Priok outer harb. E. breakwater lt. May.
SURABAYA.—W. FAIRWAY.—1. Lt.-buoy No. 2, white, exh. a F. white lt., and lt.-buoy No. 3, white, exh. a fl. white lt., have been disc. 2. Lt.-buoy No. 2, black, exh. a F. white lt., in 6° 533/4′ S., 112° 441/4′ E., remains temp. Sept.
SURABAYA STRAIT.—Nrn. ENTR.—The following lt.-buoys have been withdrawn: (a) Lt.-buoy, white, exh. a F. white lt.; (b) lt.-buoy, white, exh. an occ. white lt.; (c) lt.-buoy, black, exh. a F. white lt.; respectively 2·4, 1·4, and 1·8 miles nrd. of Jumuang Reef beacon (6° 551/2′ S., 112° 44′ E.). Sept.

PACIFIC OCEAN.
SAMOA ISLANDS.—UPOLU ISL.—APIA HARB.—The rear leading-beacon has been re-est. on the hill known as Vaea Vorberg, about 6 cables srd. from the front beacon which is near the entr. of Mulivai River, in 13° 50′ S., 171° 461/4′ W. Note.—The beacon is to be charted on the nrn. corner of the building about half a cable S.-erd. of the mission-house ruin and marked “Posn. approx.” The front beacon tower is incorrectly shown on some copies of the chart as “white,”

the correct colour is “white with red hor. bands,” as given in the prev. notice, and the charts affected are to be corrected accordingly. Sept.
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS.—OAHU.—HONOLULU HARBOUR ENTRANCE.—LIGHTED MOORING-BUOYS ESTABLISHED.—BUOYS DISCONTINUED.—Four large square wooden mooring-buoys have been established just outside the entrance to Honolulu Harbour for use in connection with salvage operations of the wrecked submarine “F-4,” located as follows :— Buoy A, on the bearings— Honolulu Harbour light .. .. .. 30° Crematory Chimney .. .. .. 59° 30’ Quarantine Island Flagstaff .. .. 354° 30’ Buoy B, on the bearings— Honolulu Harbour Lighthouse .. .. 26° 30’ Crematory Chimney .. .. 55° Quarantine Island Flagstaff .. .. 353° 30’ Buoy C, on the bearings— Honolulu Harbour Lighthouse .. .. 32° Crematory Chimney .. .. 57° Quarantine Island Flagstaff .. .. 359° Buoy D, on the bearings— Honolulu Harbour Lighthouse .. .. 33° 30' Crematory Chimney .. .. 61° Quarantine Island Flagstaff .. .. 358° A fixed white hand-lantern light will be exhibited from each of the four buoys. The two small black can buoys formerly marking the wreck have been discontinued.

PANAMA.
PANAMA BAY.—BONA ISLAND.—LIGHT ESTABLISHED.—VISIBILITY.—The commanding officer of the U.S.S. “Ohio” reports, under date of 6th September, 1915, that the light recently established on Bona Island (see Notice to Mariners No. 20 (1325) of 1915) was picked up at a distance of 37 miles; height of eye, 39 ft. Approx. position: Lat. 8° 34′ 30″ N., long. 79° 35′ 30″ W. H.O. Charts Nos. 526, 1007, 1176, and 1019. U.S. Coast Survey Chart No. 953. Bureau List of Lights,&Vol. I, 1915, No. 1826D. H.O. CHINA.
YANGTZE RIVER ENTRANCE.—TUNGSHA LIGHT-VESSEL.—LIGHT CHANGED.—FURTHER INFORMATION.—Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 29 (2064) of 1915, the Chinese Government has given further notice that the new light on the Tungsha Light-vessel is a dioptric 4th-order flashing white light of 21,000 candle-power, showing 1 group of 3 flashes every 30 seconds. The light is shown 34 ft. above the sea from a steel tower, and is visible 11 miles. Approx. position: Lat. 31° 8′ N., long. 121° 59′ 50″ E. H.O. Charts Nos. 529 and 1305. HONGKONG APPROACH.—TAI LONG HEAD (CAPE D’AGUILAR).—RADIO-STATION ESTABLISHED.—A radio-station has been established on Tai Long Head (Cape d’Aguilar). Approx. position: Lat. 22° 12′ 30″ N., long. 114° 15′ 30″ E.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
SPENCER GULF.—WALLAROO JETTY.—Masters of vessels and others are hereby informed that Berths Nos. 1 to 7 at the Wallaroo Jetty have been cleaned up to their original depths. Also, that a berth 700 ft. long by 80 ft. in width, on the northern side of the latest extension of the jetty, has been dredged to a depth of 28 ft. L.W.S. Approximate position: Lat. 33° 353/4′ S., long. 137° 363/4′ E. This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389 and 402.
KANGAROO ISLAND.—NEPEAN BAY.—Masters of vessels and others are hereby informed that on and after the 21st September, 1915, the green buoy showing a fixed red light and marking the position of the telegraph cable, about 31/2 miles E. by S. 1/2 S. of Kingscote Jetty, will be removed, and in the same position an AGA light buoy will be placed, which will be painted green, showing a red light flashing 30 times per minute, its focal plane being 10 ft. above water-level, and in clear weather should be visible for a distance of 21/4 miles. Approximate position: Lat. 35° 411/4′ S., long. 137° 421/2′ E. This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389, 2389A, and 3641.
