| Prohibitions.—Liquids, arms, ammunition, aniline dyes and preparations, publications offensive to good manners or to the Mussulman religion, opium and other drugs as specified under India. Observations.—Parcels containing umbrellas, sticks, maps, plans, or similar articles will be accepted up to a maximum of 3 ft. 3 in. in length, provided they do not exceed 7½ in. in breadth or thickness. Parcels if not packed in wood or tin should be securely sewn up in canvas or strong cloth. Parcels packed merely in paper or cardboard will not be accepted for transmission. On parcels to places other than Bushire, Bundar Abbas, Chahbar, Henjam, Jask, Linga, Mohammerah, and Kuh-malek-siah-ziareth additional charges are levied from the addressees. | Pelew Islands. |

| Prohibitions.—Via London: Bullion exceeding £5 in value, oilskins and similar goods. Observations.—The undermentioned places are in the Department of Loreto: Iquitos, Nazareth (Rio Yavari), Caballocalocha, Nauta, Contamana, Masisea, Yurimaguas, Moyabamba, Tarapoto, Saposoa, Calzada, Habana, Soritor, Rioja, Chazuta, San José de Sioa. Cinematograph-films must be placed in soldered zinc boxes, and have affixed on the outside a red ticket bearing in black letters the word “Celluloid.” | Peru. |

| Prohibitions.—Tobacco, manufactured or unmanufactured; living plants or parts of plants (except bulbs and seeds) unless accompanied by a proper certificate that the district from which they are sent is free from phylloxera, either sporadic or epidemic; unstamped playing-cards; manuscripts, other than commercial manuscript books, or the minutes of a society or company, or invoices, &c., relating to the contents of the parcel; food stuffs containing saccharine; tinder and any substitutes for matches; articles bearing the Red Cross sign, unless addressed to the Red Cross Society at Lisbon; gold, silver, jewellery, &c. Medicine is only sent at the sender’s risk, and must be accompanied by the prescription unless duly registered in Portugal. Unobliterated postage or other stamps or stamped paper, bank-notes, promissory notes, and all orders for the payment of money to the bearer, can only be sent in insured parcels. A parcel may not consist of two or more packages tied together. | Portugal. |
| Prohibitions.—Same as Portugal, with the exception of tobacco, tinder and substitutes for matches, which are not prohibited. Observations.—Insurance confined to parcels for Antonio Ennes (Angoche), Beira, Caes Gorjão, Chai-Chai, Chinde, Ibo, Inhambane, Lorenzo Marques, Macequece, Mozambique, Porto Amelia, Quilimane, Ressano Garcia, and Villa Bocoge. Parcels for persons authorized to live in the British Concession, Chinde, are also admitted at the rate for Nyasaland Protectorate. The addressee’s description, “Resident in the British Concession,” should appear in the address. Such parcels cannot be insured. Parcels may be accepted for any place, but delivery is confined to Antonio Ennes (Angoche), Beira, Bella Vista (Maputo), Catembe, Chai-Chai, Chibuto, Chinde, Ibo, Inhambane, Macequece, Lorenzo Marques, Marromeu, Mozambique, Mossuril, Mutarara, Porto Amelia, Quilimane, Sena, Tete, Villa Luiza (Marracuene), and addressees of parcels for other places must claim them at one of these places. | Portuguese East Africa. |
