Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of Roads in the County of Taieri, at Wingatui.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of roads:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the County of Taieri, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said roads:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become roads, and that the said roads shall be under the control of the Taieri County Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land: 1 acre 1 rood 2·1 perches, 2 roods 6 perches, 2 roods 29·4 perches, and 1 acre 0 roods 37·2 perches.

Portions of Section 30, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District, Taieri County.

All in the Otago Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 22096, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured blue, purple, yellow, and green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

Defining the Middle-line of a Portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway—namely, the Otamarakau Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway from Pongakawa to Taneatua (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1913: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Section 21, Block II, Waihi South Survey District, on the left bank of the Pongakawa River, marked 65 miles 35¼ chains, which point is also the termination of the railway described in a Proclamation dated 23rd day of August, 1913, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66, page 2711, of the 28th day of the same month; proceeding thence in an easterly direction generally for a distance of about 5 miles 54¼ chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., M 2, Block II, M 3, Blocks II and III, M 4, M 5, M 6, Pukehina Block, Block III, Section 2, Blocks III and IV, and 4097, red, Block IV, Waihi South Survey District, and terminating at a point on the foreshore alongside of main road, marked 71 miles 10 chains, the said point being 133 chains east and 83 chains north of the south-eastern corner of said Block III, Waihi South Survey District; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses; all in the Auckland Land District; as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36702, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

WHEREAS the Kaipara-Waikato Railway (Manurewa Deviation), (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1914: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

KAIPARA-WAIKATO RAILWAY (MANUREWA DEVIATION).

COMMENCING at a point on the existing line at about 14 miles 25 chains on the railway chainage from Auckland, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally on the eastern side of the existing line for a distance of about 2 miles 27 chains to its junction with the existing line at a point about 16 miles 52 chains on the said railway chainage, including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses; all in Block XIV, Otahuhu Survey District, Auckland Land District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 36849, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirty-first day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.
