Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of all Shops (except Tobacconists’, Hairdressers’, Confectioners’, and Chemists’ Shops) in the Borough of Wairoa under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops (except tobacconists’, hairdressers’, confectioners’, and chemists’ shops) in the Borough of Wairoa, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: At 5.30 p.m. during the winter months May, June, July, and August, and on Saturday at 9 p.m. all the year round:
And whereas the Wairoa Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops, with the exceptions above stated, within the borough:
Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 13th day of July, 1914, all such shops in the Borough of Wairoa shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
The notice gazetted on the 18th day of March, 1910, fixing the closing-hours of all shops in the borough is hereby varied accordingly.
The statutory half-holiday is on Thursday from 1 p.m.

Notice of Result of Poll.
NOTICE is hereby given that the result of the poll taken on Tuesday, 23rd June, 1914, on the proposed loan of £4,000 for erection of a bridge over the Mangapiko River near Te Awamutu, and metalling roads in the Mangapiko Riding, was as follows: For the proposal, 149 votes; against the proposal, 3 votes.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Takaka, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TAKAKA COUNTY COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913; and in the matter of a proposal to raise a special loan of £1,000 for the erection of a cart-bridge at Lindsay’s Crossing, Uruwhenua.
I HEREBY give notice that a poll of the ratepayers on the above proposal took place on 13th day of June, 1914, with the following results: For the proposal, 168; against the proposal, 34; informal, 1.
The total number of valid votes recorded was 202.
The result of the voting is a three-fifths majority of the valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal, and I therefore declare the said proposal to have been duly carried.

Consent under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waiariki District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to an alienation by way of sale of Wharawhara No. 2 Block, containing 26 acres, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.

IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waiariki District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to an alienation by way of sale of Omanu No. 1 Block, containing 134 acres 1 rood, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks II and VI, Oxford Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks II and VI, Oxford Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Oxford, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a magazine site.
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Wingatui, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
