LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8,000, authorized to be raised by the Lyttelton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for regrading and widening roads; kerb, channel, and footpath formation; building retaining-walls, and laying tarred macadam, the said Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½ pence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Lyttelton, comprising the whole of the Borough of Lyttelton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Dated at Lyttelton this 23rd day of June, 1914.

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the Lyttelton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for building municipal stables and cart-sheds, the said Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Lyttelton, comprising the whole of the Borough of Lyttelton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

COUNTY OF EGMONT.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—BRIDGES LOAN No. 2, £5,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Egmont County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Egmont County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of rebuilding in ferro-concrete certain bridges and culverts (as per Schedule hereunder) throughout the county, the said Egmont County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate on one-eighteenth of one penny (1/18th of one penny) in the pound upon the rateable value of the whole of the rateable property in the Egmont County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years (36½), or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Rahota Riding (Southern Division).—Waiteika River, Eltham Road; stream at Mr. Morris’s gravel-pit, Eltham Road; Otaki Creek, main South Road; creek west of Heimama River, main South Road; Koteoteo Stream, main South Road; Okaweu Stream, main South Road; Umuroa Stream, main South Road.

PATEA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

THAT, in exercise of the powers in that behalf them enabling, and in pursuance of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other Acts them enabling, and for the purpose of providing for the payment of the sinking fund twenty-five pounds (£25) per annum (payable annually), and the interest at four and one-half per cent. per annum (payable half-yearly), and the other charges upon a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) to be known as the “Patea Borough £5,000 Loan, 1913,” and about to be raised by the Patea Borough Council for the purpose of redeeming and paying off an existing loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) by them heretofore lawfully raised, the Patea Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eightpence (8d.) in the pound on the annual rateable value of all rateable property appearing in the valuation roll for the time being in force in the Patea Borough, on the basis of the annual capital value thereof; and further declares that such special rate shall be an annually continuing and recurring rate, and shall be payable half-yearly on the first days of March and September in each and every year until the whole of the five thousand pounds (£5,000) now about to be raised as aforesaid and all interest and other charges thereon shall have been paid off, and the said loan thereby extinguished.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Patea Borough Council held on the 15th day of June, 1914.

WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof.

THE Wanganui Borough Council hereby gives public notice that such Council, in exercise of and pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof, proposes to take for the purposes of a public road or street all that piece of land situate in the Town of Wanganui, containing four decimal nine (4·9) perches, being part of Lot J of Suburban Section 34 on the plan of the Town of Wanganui, bounded towards the north-east by Taranaki Quay, 58·5 links; towards the south-east by Dublin Street, 128 links; and towards the north-west by the remaining portion of the said Lot J, 167·5 links. A plan of the said piece of land is, and will for forty days from the date hereof remain, open for public inspection at the offices of the Council situate at St. Hill Street, Wanganui,
