of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rate-
able property of the Cashmere Riding of the County of
Heathcote, comprising part of Block XV of the Christchurch
Survey District herein more fully described: Starting on the
centre of the River Heathcote and a right line to the western
boundary of Rural Section 11465, and thence in a south-
easterly direction along the said boundary to the eastern
boundary of Rural Section 2135, and southerly along the
eastern boundaries of Rural Sections 2135, 34655, 17908,
11549 to the summit of the main ridge of the Port Hills;
thence southerly and westerly to the southernmost corner
of Rural Section 452; thence northerly by road known as
Worsley’s Track running along the north-eastern boundary
of Rural Section 338, and through Rural Sections 493, 10210,
31363, 31362, 2063; thence along the west and north-eastern
boundary of Rural Section 1325 and through Rural Section
383 to the north-eastern corner, and by a right line to the
middle of the Heathcote River; thence north and east
generally along the Heathcote River to the point of com-
mencement. And that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, George Scott, Chairman of the Heathcote County Council,
do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly made
and passed at a special meeting of the Heathcote County
Council held on the 12th day of May, 1914.

In testimony thereof the common seal of the Heathcote
County Council has hereunto been affixed this twenty-second
day of June, 1914.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR
SPECIAL LOAN OF £7,423 ON CASHMERE RIDING FOR
ROADING PURPOSES.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908 and
1913, the Heathcote County Council hereby resolves as
follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £7,423, authorized to be raised by the
Heathcote County Council, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Act, for a roading scheme and other works inci-
dental thereto, in the Cashmere Riding in the County of
Heathcote, the said Heathcote County Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of fifteen thirty-seconds of a penny
in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property
in the Cashmere Riding aforesaid, comprising the area as
follows:—

All that area of the Heathcote County known as the
Cashmere Riding, being part of Block XV of the Christchurch
Survey District herein more fully described: Starting on the
centre of the River Heathcote and at a right line to the
western boundary of Rural Section 11465, and thence in a
south-easterly direction along the said boundary to the
eastern boundary of Rural Section 2135, and southerly along
the eastern boundary of Rural Sections 2135, 34655, 17908,
11549 to the summit of the main ridge of the Port Hills;

MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.


LUCK-AT-LAST ROAD LOAN.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL
RATE.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by consent
of the ratepayers interested, for the purpose of formation
on the Luck-at-Last Road, the said Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of five-sixteenths of a penny in the
pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property
of the Luck-at-Last Road Special-rating Area in the Maunga-
tautari Riding within the Matamata County, which comprises
all that area commencing at the north-western corner of
Section No. 4 No. 763, Pukekura, and following the northern
boundary of the said section to the Hauoira Station; thence
in a straight easterly direction through No. 2280, part Maunga-
tautari No. 1 of Block XV, Cambridge, to the junction of
the Maungatautari and Luck-at-Last Road; thence in a
straight southerly line to the southern boundary of Maunga-
tautari No. 1A, and following the southern boundary in an
easterly direction to the intersection with the boundary-line
of Block II, Maungatautari; thence in a southerly direction
to a point forty chains from the Maungatautari Trig. Station
and on the Matamata County boundary-line; thence following
the said boundary-line in a north-westerly direction to the
Pukekura Trig. Station; thence in a north-easterly direction
to the north-west corner of Section No. 4 No. 763, Pukekura,
the starting-point; and more particularly delineated on the
attached plan marked “C” with the special area outlined
in red. And that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable on the first day of July in each and every year during
a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period
of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully
paid off; the rate of interest to be (4½ per cent.) four pounds
ten shillings per centum per annum, exclusive of sinking
fund; and the half-yearly instalment in respect of principal
and interest to be £2 16s. 1d. for each £100 of the loan. The
first year’s interest and the cost of raising the loan to be
paid out of the loan.

The above resolution was duly passed by the Matamata
County Council at its meeting held on the first day of June,
1914.

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.


RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the
Lyttelton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act,
for purchase of road-roller and crushing plant, the said
Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of
Lyttelton, comprising the whole of the Borough of Lyttelton;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the first day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.”
