THE COMPANIES ACT, 1908.

SUBSECTION (3) OF SECTION 266.

IT having been reported to me that the Tararua Co-operative Cheese-factory (Limited) has ceased to carry on business, I hereby give notice that at the expiration of three months from this date the name of such company will, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the Register, and the company will be dissolved.

PATENTS, DESIGNS, AND TRADE-MARKS ACT, 1911.

In the matter of Letters Patent No. 13318, granted to JOHN NEWSOME CLAPHAM, of Palmerston North, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Hairdresser, for an invention for “Improved rein-holder and wheel stop or chain for holding horses,” bearing date the 16th day of January, 1901.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the said JOHN NEWSOME CLAPHAM and THOMAS HUDDY COUZINS, of Christchurch, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Leather-manufacturer (being the owner of the South Island rights in such letters patent), to present a petition to the Supreme Court at Wellington praying that the said letters patent be extended for a further term.

Any person intending to oppose such petition should give notice of such intention to the petitioners’ solicitors, whereupon a copy of the petition will be supplied and notice given as to the day upon which it is proposed to apply to the Court for a fixture for the hearing of the petition.

GREY LYNN BOROUGH.

THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1908, AND THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, the body corporate called the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Grey Lynn hereby gives notice that it intends to form a street connecting Sackville Street and Hinemoa Street within the said borough, and do all works and things incidental thereto, and that for the purpose and object of so doing the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken by the said Corporation under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts; and that a survey has been made and a plan prepared showing such pieces of land, together with the names of the owners and occupiers thereof so far as they can be ascertained; and that a copy of such plan has been deposited in the office of the Town Clerk of the said Corporation at the Corporation office at the corner of Rose Road and Williamson Avenue in the Borough of Grey Lynn, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the 24th day of June, 1914 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Town Clerk, Grey Lynn.

COUNTY OF WAIRARAPA SOUTH.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND IN BLOCKS V AND VII, KAIWHATA SURVEY DISTRICT, FOR ROAD PURPOSES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Wairarapa South propose, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work within the Maungaraki Riding of the said county—to wit, a public road through Sections One hundred and fifty-three (153), One hundred and fifty-two (152), Block V, Kaiwhata Survey District, and Section 30, Block VII, Kaiwhata Survey District; and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited at the office of the Wairarapa South County Council, Belvedere Street, Carterton, and a copy thereof is deposited at the post-office, Te Wharan, and both are there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of the said lands should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the office of the Wairarapa South County Council, Belvedere Street, Carterton.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR SPECIAL LOAN OF £740 ON CASHMERE RIDING FOR ROADING PURPOSES.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Heathcote County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £740, authorized to be raised by the Heathcote County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for a roading scheme, the said Heathcote County Council
