Authorizing the Laying-off of Onslow Road, in the Town of Tui Extension No. 24, of a Width of not less than 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of Onslow Road, in the Town of Tui Extension No. 24, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Whakatane Town District.

Wellington, 25th June, 1914.
HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
EDGAR WAINE BECKETT,
of Whakatane, to be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of seven members of the Board of Commissioners of the Whakatane Town District as constituted under the Town Boards Act, 1908; also to appoint Wednesday, the 15th day of July, 1914, to be the date, and the office of Messrs. Stubbing and Campbell, Surveyors, The Strand, Whakatane, to be the place, at which the said first election shall be held; also to appoint Thursday, the 16th day of July, 1914, at half past seven o’clock in the afternoon, to be the time, and the County Chambers, Whakatane, to be the place, at which the first meeting of the Board of Commissioners so elected shall be held.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Kaitaia Drainage District.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
GERALD WILFRID MATTHEWS
to be Returning Officer for the purpose of conducting the first election of two members of the Board of Trustees of Kaitaia Drainage District as constituted under the Kaitaia Land Drainage Act, 1913; also to appoint Tuesday, the 21st day of July, 1914, to be the date, and the Kaitaia Hall at Kaitaia and Grand Hall at Awanui to be the places, for holding such election; and also to appoint Tuesday, the 4th day of August, 1914, at 10 o’clock a.m., to be the time, and the said Kaitaia Hall at Kaitaia to be the place, at which the first meeting of Trustees shall be held.

IN pursuance of the provisions of section 64 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, I, William Ferguson Massey, the Minister of Lands for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give you notice that the land owned by you, known as the Wither Run, situated near Blenheim, is required for purposes of settlement.

Bonus for the Production of Mineral Phosphate.—Notice No. 1749.
Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce,
Wellington, 29th June, 1914.
THE following bonus is hereby offered for the discovery and working within the Dominion of a deposit or deposits of marketable mineral phosphate, viz. :—
£500 if on land on which the Crown is entitled to such deposits;
£250 if on other land.
The following are the conditions under which the bonus is offered and will be paid :—
-
That no fertilizer containing material from the deposit, or from any deposit in the neighbourhood, has been placed upon the market previous to the date hereof.
-
That the raw material is reasonably accessible and can be worked at a profit.
-
That a committee to be appointed by the Minister of Agriculture to examine the deposit is satisfied that there is sufficient to meet all ordinary demands of the Dominion for five years.
-
That the fertilizer made from the phosphate can be disposed of at a price which will allow of its being remuneratively used for agricultural purposes.
-
That the composition of the phosphate averages not less than 50 per cent. of phosphate of lime (tricalcic phosphate); provided, however, that should a phosphate of a lower average composition be discovered, the committee may recommend that a portion of the bonus be granted.
