Special Order made by the Whangarei County Council altering Boundaries of Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Whangarei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

WHANGAREI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order altering Riding Boundaries and fixing Representation therein.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Counties Act, 1908, the Whangarei County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

  1. That the number of ridings within the County of Whangarei and the representation of the same remain as at present.

  2. That the boundaries of the Ridings of Waipu and Mania of the County of Whangarei remain as at present.

  3. That the boundaries of the Otonga, Hikurangi, Kiripaka, Wairua, Maunu, and Mangapai Ridings be altered, and be as shown on the map of the County of Whangarei prepared for the purpose, and marked A, deposited at the office of the County Council at Whangarei.

  4. That the dividing-line between the Ridings of Kiripaka and Otonga (that is, between the Road District of Marua and the Road District and the Outlying District of Otonga) be as follows: Commencing at a point at the southern boundary corner of Section 9, Block XVI, Hukerenui Survey District; thence north-east along the south-eastern boundary-line of the said Section 9 to road by Trig. B; thence north along the said road bounding the east of Section 9 to the north-western corner of Section 3; thence east along the northern boundary-line of Section 3 to its junction with road; thence by a short line to the south-western boundary corner of Section 13; thence east along the block-line to the south-western boundary corner of Section 28, Block VII, Opuawhanga Survey District; thence north along the boundary-line of Section 28 to the north-western corner; thence north-east by a straight line through the Opuawhanga K.G.R. to the north-western boundary corner of Section 27; thence easterly along the northern boundary-line of Section 27 to its meeting with the western boundary-line of Section 34; thence north and east along the boundary-line of Section 34 to intersection with block-line; thence north by the said block-line to its intersection with road; thence north along the said road-line to the south-eastern boundary corner of Section 12, Block VII, Opuawhanga Survey District; thence easterly along road-line to its meeting with the reaches of the Whananaki Inlet at the north-eastern boundary corner of Section 12, Block VIII, Opuawhanga Survey District.

  5. That the dividing-line between the Otonga Road District, the Marua Road District, and Hikurangi Outlying District be as follows: Commencing at a point on the southern boundary corner of Section 9, Block XVI, Hukerenui Survey District; thence north along the boundary-line of Section 9 to the eastern boundary corner of Section S.E. 38; thence south-west along the boundary-line of Section S.E. 38 to intersection with main road at the northern corner of Section N.E. 36; thence northerly along the main road by the western boundary-lines of Sections S.E. 38, N.W. 38, S.E. 37, M. 37, N.W. 37, and South 32; thence by the same main road through Sections M. part 32, 16, and 2 to where the said main road meets with the Whakapara Stream at the north-west of Section 2; thence north-west by the present boundary-line between the Otonga and Hikurangi Ridings to the county boundary.

  6. That the dividing-line between the Hikurangi Riding and the Wairua Riding be as follows: Commencing at a point on the northern boundary corner of Section 17, Block XIII, Hukerenui Survey District; thence south-east by the boundary-line of the said Section 17 and Section 16 to the north-west boundary corner of Section 14; thence generally south-east along the present boundary-line between the said ridings to the western boundary corner of Section 5, Block III, Purua Survey District; thence south-east along the south-western boundary-line of Section 5 to the Wairua River; thence north-east along the said stream to the eastern boundary corner of Section 7, Block IV, Purua Survey District; thence by the present boundary-line to its intersection at angle in road bounding the north-west of Section 6; thence south by the said road to the north-western boundary corner of Section 20, Block IV, Purua Survey District; thence south-east along the northern boundary-line of Section 20 to its intersection with the western boundary-line of Section 18, Block VII, Purua Survey District; thence south by the western boundary-line of Section 18 to intersection with road bounding west of Maketawa 3546; thence continuing south-east by a dividing-line through Maketawa to the north-western boundary-line of Section Parakiore 5158; thence east along the northern boundary-line of Parakiore 5158 to its north-eastern boundary corner; thence south along the eastern boundary of Parakiore 5158 to its intersection with road at north-east of Ngawhakatikitu; thence north-east along the north boundary of Puriritahi to the Kamo Town District boundary.

  7. That the dividing-line between the Wairua Riding and the Maunu Riding be as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern boundary corner of Section 77 (trig. hill), Block XII, Purua Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Section 77 to the south-east corner of Section 73; thence north-west along the south-western boundary-line of Sections 73, 76 (E.R.), 52, and 55 to the western boundary corner of Section 55; thence generally west by the present boundary-line between the said ridings to the county boundary at Block III, Mangakahia Survey District.

  8. That the dividing-line between the Maunu Riding and the Mangapai Riding be as follows: Commencing at Trig. No. 46 on the northern boundary-line of Block XIII, Whangarei Survey District; thence north-west along road-line to shores of mud-flat at west of Section 9; thence south-west along the shores of the creek or mud-flat to the north-east boundary corner of abattoir site; thence west along the northern boundary-line of the abattoir site and Section 1 (cemetery reserve) to intersection of main road; thence west along the southern boundary-line of Raumanga No. 2 to its intersection with the western boundary-line of Te Tawa 193; thence south along the south-eastern boundary-line of Te Tawa 193 to its southern boundary corner; thence south by a straight line through the Whangarei High School Endowment to the western boundary corner of Ruarangi (containing 39¾ acres), Block XVI, Purua Survey District; thence south-west by a straight line from the western boundary corner of Ruarangi to the north-western boundary corner of Section Otara No. 1; thence south by the western boundary-line of Sections Otara No. 1, 129, and 133 to junction of roads at south-east of Section 130, Block XV, Purua Survey District; thence west along road-line to north-west boundary corner of Section 83; thence south along the western boundary-line of Section 83 to its south-west boundary corner; thence south-westerly in a straight line across the Otaika K.G. Reserve touching the north-west boundary-line of Section 107, Block VI, Tangihua Survey District, to the middle of northern boundary-line of Section N. 126 where intersected by block-line; thence generally west and south by the present boundary-line between the said ridings to the county boundary in Block I, Tangihua Survey District.

The common seal of the body corporate called the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Whangarei County was hereunto affixed by direction of the said Council of Whangarei County this 12th day of June, 1914, in the presence of—

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order passed at a special meeting of the Whangarei County Council held on the 17th day of April, 1914, and advertised in the Northern Advocate weekly of 15th, 22nd, 29th May and 5th June, confirmed at a general meeting of the said Council held on the 12th day of June, 1914, making alterations in the boundaries of the aforesaid ridings and fixing the representation therein as at present, has been duly made.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Orakau Road, in the Town of Otahuhu Extension No. 23, of a Width of not less than 66 ft.

Wellington, 23rd June, 1914.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby authorize the laying-off of Orakau Road, in the Town of Otahuhu, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.
